I've never used Mod Podge. Is it easy to work with? Did you start by giving the chair a base coat of color and then applying the pictures???

Mod Podge is a great tool Grandma. It's kind of an all-in-one type thing. It's a glue and a top coat

Let's just say that a piece of furniture that was going in the garage sale just might not make it! ;)

glad I could help :D
If you plan to modge podge something, make sure you do at least two coats! I did 2 about a year ago, and I need to repodge it already

I love your chair and you have sparked a creative flame up in my dusty old cob web creative brain!! I have a plain white boring little white rocking chair that I would love to do in tinkerbell. I have hundreds of tink stickers that I found on ebay a while back. I have them put up for Christmas but this sounds like a much better way to use them!! Should I paint the chair first in the color I pick out (tinkerbell purple) I was going to paint the legs and arm in tink green (I want it to be colorful but not over the edge to tacky  ) then I wanted to put the stickers on the seat and on the back head rest I thought about using some photos of my DD in her tink outfit and stencil her name on it. After all that is dry then do I just use the modge podge on it. Let the first coat dry then apply second coat?

Okay, let's see if I sorted all of that information correctly! Don't you love it when a creative storm hits the brain and everything just tumbles out? :D
Let's get some other opinions, but here are my thoughts:
Paint the background colors first.
Stencil your daughter's name next.
Personally, I would use a matte polyurethene over the paint before adding the photos/stickers. However, I tend to do things the hard way, so don't consider this the only way!
If you're going to print photos on an inkjet printer, test some with the Mod Podge before applying them to the chair. Mod Podge is water based and so is your printer ink. You could end of with a bit of a mess! You might be able to give them a light spray of fixative on both sides to seal them. Experimentation time! ;)
Then go for it! Apply Mod Podge as the glue, then add the photos, stickers, cut outs, etc. Apply additional Mod Podge coats as needed to even the surface (some papers may be thicker than others). Let it dry thoroughly between each coat. At least two coats, possibly more. You can seal the entire thing with a polyurethene spray.
Your daughter will have a Tinkerbell chair that will be the envy of everyone!

Taja has it! I made the mistake of not painting it before Mod Podging. Also, do more then 2 coats of Podge. If your using stickers, you won't have a problem with them leaking.
