Uploading an Animated Avatar

Hi i've noticed that a few people on here have animated avatars yet when i try to upload one it says "You may not upload animated images"

Does anybody know why i can't have one when other people here have got them???? :tears:

Madeye, try shrinking the size of your avatar (file size, can often be done by shrinking dimensions) and trying that. Just a quick thought without digging too deep.

It is a .gif file, right? :lol:

I've tried shrinking it already, it's definately within the pixel limits and is only 2.87kb.
I've even tried uploading other peoples animated avatars because i can see they must work! But they give the same result....

......And yep, it's a .gif!

that might be a bug still not fixed, the same as the siggy thing not working for us mere mortals, but it works for the mods tho, so that might be a reason why you are having trouble :)

I just swapped mine for an animated one no probs.....but then i'm running Safari on a Mac :wink:

as i said paula your a mod and you can do that stuff it might be us ordinary scummers that cant :lol:

Being a mod has nothing to do with it, it's because i'm on Safari :hehe:

Only Admins can change the signatures, not us Mods unless we have Safari............so the lesson of the day is............if you wanna sig change or an animated avatar...........get a Mac. :D

You're all set - there was something funny with the file, so it wasn't you or the forums. I resaved it and it's working fine now.
