Hi guys

My mum is a keen cross stitcher, and wonders if she can take hers on the plane, she's worried that she won't be able to take her needle on board, and wonders if a plastic needle would be ok.... Does anyone know what the score is with things like this?

Don't know, I had to put my tweezers in checked luggage at check-in. It does baffle me things that are and are not allowed, I'm all for safety but it remains inconsistent, wine is served in glass bottles, surely someone could break that and use it as weapon.

I brought a plastic needle for mine, and didn't have a problem, but fully expected to have to throw it away. I flew Southwest out of MHT however, and each one is different.

All I can advise is, going to the website of the operator you're flying with and see their list of do's & don'ts. It's so inconsistant, I'm afraid.
