View Full Version : Signature problems - reply needed

I need your help to get to the bottom of what's causing the sig problems.
Can you reply here lettting me know-
Do you have one of our countdown timers in your signature?
If so, are you able to save your signature?
If you don't, are you able to save your signature?
We're thinking it may be a problem with the signature script that's stopping people saving their sigs.

I have a countdown but haven't tried to alter my siggie. Prior to today I had been successful using the admin panel to modify siggies if folks asked for assistance but now I can't even do that. :(

I can add and delete my signature in Safari on the Mac.
So, if you'd all like to give me enough money to change my life, I'll change everyone's signatures for them.:D

Well, seems we've solved the problem. It's the countdown timers
Thing is, you can't remove them because you can't save your signature

I have countdown timers but I cant see the code for them in my sig. I can only see the bits related to resorts and dates. I tried to add to that but it ignores me (can't preview sig or save it - the enter key is ignored).
Will ask my son to try it on his Apple ibook for me

It might not only be the UOG signature script.
I use a different script which calls the background from my domain. Could it be any scripting in the siggies that's causing the problem?
I tried changing my sig yesterday on Linux using Firefox and could not change it either.

It does only seem to be siggies with timers in. I tested it in another account with a blank signature and could save that.
Yet on my account, from same computer, I have a timer in my sig, and I can't save my sig.
Process of elimination leads me to think it is the countdown scripts

Joanne and Keith led us through a major upgrade a few weeks ago, and there are still a few bugs to be--debugged! The signatures are one of them. They aren't working with AOL or IE.
It has been suggested by those in the know that downloading and using a browser called Deer Park Alpha does work with the signature at this time. Obviously, not something I have done yet--still have my Las Vegas timer in my siggie!

If you download Deer Park you'll be able to edit your siggie. Otherwise, be patient until the bug are fixed. The software people are slow to react to the bug report

ok sig editing should now be fixed for most people (still a couple of reports of problems on some older browsers).
If it doesnt work first time, try ctrl-R, ctrl-F5 or cleaning out your browser cache :)
