im thinking about booking taxis to go to Universal studios and seaworld, but what i wanted to know was, do i have to book well in advance or can i phone up on the day and get one quite easily?
Im thinking of using Quicksilver as ive seen the good reports on here, but i dont want to leave it too late if i need to book.
Thanks in advance. Dawn

The front desk at your hotel/resort should be able to arrange one for you as and when you need one.

We use taxis all the time.. we've never hired a car there.
There's never a problem getting one, especially not at the hotel. Usually best to go to the luggage people outside the hotel and ask for one there. They'll either call one over or phone one for you.
Quicksilver usually works out around the same or a BIT more, say $5/$10 over and above a taxi *but* it's important to note that their rates are fixed so you don't get a shock and you get quality cars/drivers.
Last year we were a bit silly and flagged one down at a mall. Well we got into this guys cab, no meter etc.... so we're travelling along, the car is squeaking  and he's shouting into his cell phone. Then all of a sudden the traffic starts slowing and I'm thinking ok, is he going to slow or do the "American driving manoeuvre"... you know, the one where the traffic ahead slows and just as it looks as though they're going to crash, they swerve into another lane in a way you'd NEVER get away with on the m6 ;-)
Anyway, this guy did neither, evidently he was too busy yelling into his phone so he ended up squealing the breaks, almost spinning and we all arrived on the grass partition with other cars beeping at us.
The guy didnt even stop yelling on his cell phone until we got out at which point he tried for his fare (yeah right)... (at which point I noticed the total lack of pavements/sidewalks in Orlando LOL).
Anyway, the yellow cabs from disney are fine and nothing like that, but for the few extra $s for quicksilver I must admit, it's hard not to use their service.
