Here is some information regarding the entertainment system on virgin for passengers flying from gatwick to orlando
There are five different aircrafts used for this route.
These are Jersey girl, Hotlips, Barbarella, English rose & Pretty woman. All these have the nova system which has movie channels(not sure how many) 1 tv channel & 14 audio. (no games)
The aircrafts which have had a re-fit, (which i think are Barbarella & Pretty women) have the supernova system which basically means a few more channels but still no games.
There are two others aircrafts that are sometimes used which have the odyssey system which has 10 movie channels, 2 kids channels, 8 tv channels and 35 nintendo games. These are named Ladybird & Virginia plain.
It seems that the majority of the flights with the new v-port system fly out of Heathrow.

Oh, I don't know............Virgin have games on the Gatwick flight! There's that old game 'How long will it be until I see a flight attendant' and the ever popular 'Let's form an orderly queue down the plane while we all wait for the toilet'!
And what about the best game of all 'I give you a choice of meal, you choose, and then I tell you we've run out'! That's always a crowd puller!!

Lol yeah and you end up with some fish meal when you hate fish.
I was really upset to find out there were no games. Previously on Virgin (never from Gatwick though) I have had the games and it always made the flight go faster. Playing Mario for hours is great. Guess I will have to take the gameboy.

So when I look at Virgins website next month to see what movies and tv shows are on they may not even be on the plane because the plane does not have many channels??????

No it only says may vary slightly.
I am confused I have travelled by Virgin loads and never had the problem of hardly any channels. Do they not care about people travelling to Orlando yet love the ones going to the west coast or something?

Nova has 5 movie, 2 kids and 1 TV. Odyssey has 10 movie, 2 kids and 8 TV. That is fitted on G-VAST Ladybird and G-VTOP Virginia Plain. They both do the MAN or LGW to MCO route.

Most of the games sysytems and V-Port are on the airbuses I believe and they don't fly the MCO routes. It's 99% likely you won't get games. Another thing I read was that if you could imagine a flight like Orlando, half the passengers are kids, they all want to play games and they were having trouble loading etc. because of the sheer volume of players.
Phil, the kids get a backpack with a few things in, but best to take some stuff with you. Chances may get the same plane as Keith too Phil. They tend to do a rotation of about 7-10 days (i'll check that) then fly back to Gatwick for a full service and a different one flies back to Manchester to take over.

I have problems hearing the films, it always sounds muffled, I don't know if its the headphones, the system or me as DH doesn't have a problem.
