If you want to save money, have breakfast in the park at some bakery. A cookie and a drink go a long way. Eat lunch at a sit-down dining place. Chances are you'll be tired and what to sit, and you save money on Entres (there cheaper at lunch). Have a later lunch if you can. Have dinner at a counter service place. If you leave the parks earlier, take something at your resort, and eat it in your room for full relaxing.

The best tip I have is eat at the best restaurants... that sounds obvious, but there are some places that are "standard" eateries then some that are more exciting, or themed!

By best I don't mean expensive, I just mean more unusual or plain convenient. Last time we went we ate at:

Sci-fi Dine In @ MGM (Great fun and like nothing else I've been to)
San Angel Inn @ Mexico, Epcot (Second favourite place, atmosphere was wonderful)
Mythos @ Universal IOA (My favourite - very nice food, very nice cocktails!)
Monster Cafe @ Universal (Good on a halloween horror night but very hot - no aircon)
Mel's Drive In @ Universal (Good for a mid afternoon snack)
Casey's Corner @ Magic Kingdom (Do a good "time to go home" hot dog)

Well, now you know those ones are good you can avoid them and try others! :rotfl:

You gotta try the fries @ Mythos tho - Genius!

How are the hot dogs at Casey's at MK? Are they mild or spicey? I suddenly realized I've never eaten a hot dog at WDW!

Disneyland (CA) used to have mild, beef hot dogs, but they slowly changed to spicey ones that I can't eat! There was one place on Main Street where you could purchase the original hot dogs until just recently--now they've gone to the spicey side! :sigh:

taja,
I dont remember if they are spicy but I do know they are all beef no fillers. I will be happy to force myself to eat a few to give you a detailed report :D

I appreciate the sacrifice, Sharon! :hehe:

I never even thought about it until we were in Las Vegas last weekend. We had one of those coupon books for $1.50 for a hot dog and soft drink at The Tropicana, which both Leu & I enjoyed. Decided to have one the next day at another hotel (not on special--$3.50 for the hot dog!), and it was bordering on too spicey for both of us! And Leu likes subtly spicey food. Actually, her taste buds like very spicey food--it's her stomach that doesn't!

I don't remember exactly but they can't have been too hot - Gareth polished his off and he doesn't like spicy at all - sometimes I think he's not our son after all  DH and I love spicy - the spicier the better!

Taja, I don't call the dogs at Casey's spicy in any way shape or form. They are just good 100% Beef Franks. :)

That sounds like Leu! She's always loved spicey food--it just decided it didn't like her a couple of years ago!

I'll keep that in mind for my next trip, John! I was going to buy one last year, but wasn't sure what to expect. My taste buds are geard toward mild! :)

Yeah Taja

Not a hint of spice!
They're very nice.
Don't go with rice.
Have a slice... or a whole one.

:hehe:

I think the best tip I could offer would be to eat early, or late, depending on the meal. For example, have a big breakfast late, you won't need lunch :) Or have an early dinner and pay the lunch prices.
