Hi all just back from my fantastic holiday to Florida (Animal Kingdom Lodge) has a really great time there so many memories it was brilliant, but sorry here it goes again for TCD !!!!
Went sunshine first ,well what a joke the plane was flithy going out there and coming back, dedicated cabin crew endless drinks yer right ok !I had my light on for a member of the cabin staff for almost 2 hours and saw no one eventually went up to see a crew member and was answered abruptly and very rude. As i have said on this site before this was mine and my families first ever plane flight and real holiday so really was quite nervous but very excited, when asking the crew members for any help when filling out the VISA forms was answered shortly and told dont make any mistakes as we dont carry alot of these forms on the plane! We were shown a film(well supposedly) to help to fill the form in but no one could see it because of the bad quality i told a crew member who said to me "Ah didums never mind" then laughed and walked off i was horrified. To be honest I could go on for ages about this bad customer service but Im sure you have all heard it before but I had to get this off my chest. Apart from this the holiday was great but i will spend my flying money else where next time even if it means i will have to save a lot more money.

TCD YOU DID IT AGAIN!!!!!!!

Sorry you had a bad flight Sarah, but so so so glad Disney was amazing for you :D

We've flown with BA the two times we went, and had great experiences with them. We've been tempted with TCD, with the low prices they offer in comparison, but now don't dare to try with each bad review we read :(

:ohdear: Its probably not even worth sending a letter of complaint to their Customer Services dept.............it'll be very dusty, lots of cobwebs, & no staff ( of course:rolleyes:....except for a skeleton behind the desk laughing manicly.....)
What am I talking about????? There is no Customer Service dept.

Great to hear you had a good trip, Sarah. Looking forward to reading your Trip Report :hyper:
BA and Virgin for me :Plane:

I hope this mob are still trading on the 10th September and are not garbage. I also hope they are not cowboys, we are all quite worried about flying with them because of threads like these. I appreciate that we can all vent our opinions but its still doesnt make it any better for us that are still to fly:( .

I disagree, we are flying TCD on the 9th sept and at least these threads forewarn people as to what to expect.
Conclusion is take sandwiches and bottles of water with you, and if you can buy a portable DVD player too, eliminate the need for the cabin crew and it may just be a half decent flight:blush:

I don't know how much someone could prepare to deal with the lack of service being described on these TCD flights, but I would find it valuable information to have before hand. I'd want to know that the crew were not very helpful and plan accordingly. If I were flying for the first time, I would realize that I have to learn everything about the forms to be completed, etc. on my own and not rely on the crew. I think I might even consider carrying my own meal aboard if it were allowed.

It's always difficult when we hear bad reports about a service that we've booked. I've changed my booking on just such bad reports before, and I've also not changed bookings when I couldn't.

It is understood that those who may be yet to fly with this company are uneasy with the repeated negative reports, but the folks who had those experiences are simply trying to provide information to others that will help the other folks protect themselves. :)

Each experience will differ based on the person's perceptions. What bothers one person won't even register with another.

Forewarned is forearmed, eh?

Thank you for your report and I'm relieved that it didn't negatively impact your overall holiday! :ears:

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again. Don't worry, however you get there, once you get there you will have an incredible time and it will all be worth it :D

I almost forgot, sarah j, are you doing a trip report?

Hi
I understand what you are saying but for me the flight is a big part of the trip and if you have a bad experience it can play on your mind and the thought of having the same experience can have a dampner on the holiday ( I know it should nt but for me it does ) .
I flew with virgin and had an excellent flight out bound but the inbound flight was spoilt by the seat recliners, ( I was sat across the aisle from an American lady who was travelling on her own and the seat in front was occupied by somebody who reclined the seat after 1/2 hour then was listening to something on the headphones and started to rock in time to the music . My heart went out to the American who had about 12 '' of room

I know what you mean Barry, the flight is a big part of it, which is why we would love to fly PE next time we go. I'm also a very nervous flier so I hate practically every minute of it, and the fact that it is pretty uncomfortable and cramped doesn't really help :D It will always just be a means to and end for me :D

Don't know what to say about the reclining issue, it's hard :(

Recling the seat does make the flight more comfortable (and I do it) and of course it's totally within someone's right to do it... at the same time it does mean that the person behind has to recline or they'll have zero space of their own.

It's just one of those things I guess

Forewarned is forearmed......

:iagree:, Tink.

And the good thing about people reporting their experiences : not only does it prepare other travellers, it also hopefully makes the company aware. These are not the only message boards reporting these TCD experiences, I know of at least one other message board that a senior manager of TCD actually participates. So somewhere along the line, TCD might actually be reading these reports and, in there own good time, might try to resolve these issues. Which can only be a good thing. They may even wait until their profits are effected ( and at this rate, people will stop booking with them) and if it takes that long, so be it....
Whats the point in pretending that everything is hunky-dory? To present a false hope to those who have yet to travel?

I fully agree that people should report their holiday problems and their compliments. I am taking a chance this year and flying with Airtours/Mytravel yet again. I went with them last year with no problems and anticipate the same this year. HOWEVER, I did fly with them when they were being used by Travel City Direct and our return trip was dire to say the least. I know that things can go wrong and I will be prepared for all eventualities  (hopefully). This is mainly due to my past experiances and the experiences of the people who are kind enough to shere their experiences (good & bad) on this board. All information, however trivial, is never wasted.

I guess there should be some kind of etiquette to this, maybe the airlines could issue guidelines- i.e not when eating

sorry catherine i hope i havent made your worries worse, but its better than turning up not knowing, at least you can prepare, by taking some food onboard and drinks too as mentioned earlier to eliminate the need for the unruly and rude cabin staff :)

Hi all, Ctherine Im sorry if this has made you worried about the flight but I felt that I had to let you people know what I had experienced,I have a friend who would not go with any other company and maybe we all expect different things. The flight was only a tiny part of my holiday and Disney soon made me forget about TCD, Im sure you will have a great time and Im sorry if my moan about the flight has worried you

Hey no worries guys, i know everything that is said has best intentions in mind, i must have been a little sensitive yesterday. I agree we are forewarned. I will be taking lots of bits on board. I am also hoping the SF seats a ok.

I've just been trying to book my brother and family in for Christmas. They have to choose between TCD or MyTravel and the price difference is £200 more with MT. They flew MyTravel last year and had a 24 hour delay but got really good planes. Before all these threads I don't think he'd have thought twice and booked with TCD. Now, he's unsure what to do.

The benefit would be a few more inches leg room on the TCD flight, but i know what you mean about not being sure. A friend of ours travelled last year with My Travel and thought they where great, seat back tv. Toilets are downstairs apparantly.

dont worry the flight is such a small part of your holiday, and I bet you will find them fine..............unfortunately some posts do tend to pick up small bad aspects of peoples holidays, (and we always tend to remember the bad things dont we) where as there are sooo many nice things in Disney that more than make up for it! Have fun!

With some people saying TCD are nice and many others saying not, me and hubby were wondering if it mattered where you flew from. So if TCD have been really bad/good, can you let us know what airport you went from. Think we are just hoping everyone from Gatwick is gonna say they were great, I know its wishful thinking. Gonna take so much food, drink and stuff to do we will probably get charged for extra baggage.
