I might start packing this weekend!
Why wait until the weekend? :D I usually start about 3 weeks before we go if I can persuade DH to get the cases out of the garage loft! He always gives in at least 2 weeks before we go but 3 is stretching it for him  .
I need that time to make sure everything I want to take is clean and ironed and put aside so it doesnt get worn again and I have a last minute panic to get it washed etc ready to pack. Plus I like to make sure I have all the toiletries I need (tend to take small bottles on holiday and leave the unused part there to give a bit more room in the case on the way home!!)

Good point susie! I may have to get the suitcases down from the loft tonight! That in itself is exciting! :D
Im not taking a lot though as i have a lot of spending money and plan to buy SO much! Have no idea how much luggage allowance im allowed to have so will have to find that out soon i think!
When do all you others start to pack? Some people i know pack the day they are going on holiday! I think packing is all part of the excitement thats why i try to pack quite a bit in advance! :D

I agree!! Packing and writing lists is so part of the fun  (My boyfriend doesnt agree though   ) I've already got our cases out and have started gathering things together - just so I know what i've got and what I need to buy. I've got most things, just need to buy a light coloured pair of jeans, a rucksack for my hand luggage and nip to sainsburys for my toiletries and that will be everything. Then its just all the washing, ironing and actual packing!
Who are you flying with?? We are flying with virgin, so we can have 2 cases each and our hand luggage. (Obviously there's size and weight restrictions on each bag though) I'm taking the 2 cases but only half filling each one so that I've got lots of room to bring plenty of goodies back :D Oooooooo im getting all giddy again just talking about it! :hehe:

We are flying with First Choice airlines (new planes!) so have no idea what they are like! It says on their website its 20 per person plus 5 hand luggage. This cant be right can it? I thought it would be a lot more for America.
If we are allowed more i will be taking one suitcase with a smaller one packed inside for my shopping! :shop:
I cant wait. :excited:

I've just had a read of their website and I think it must be 20 and 5 like you said, but it does mention at the bottom that this can depend on the airline and destination, it says to check your ticket. You're probably best either giving them a phonecall to find out exactly, or you could email them - so that then you can print out the response and if you have probs at the airport at least you've got proof of what you were told  Surely it must be more than that  but I havent travelled with them so I wouldnt know

My brothers wife has the tickets so i think i may ask her and see if there is a phone number on them. If not i think i'll have to save some money to have my luggage shipped as 20 seems so minimal when your going to Florida!
Ur lucky travelling with Virgin - i went with them to New York and they are fantastic!

Theres no way I could keep to that limit, I pack anything and everything  so they'd love me, as i'd be paying an absolute fortune for excess baggage

Since I was little i've always dreamed of going to disney / orlando and I thought if I take a short flight somewhere first and I hate it, i'd never gather the courage to go on a long flight - whereas this way, once im on the plane - I aint got a choice
WOW, that sounds great - I love the idea of the disney meal trays, bet they are really sweet!! Dont forget to take loads and loads of photos so we can all nosey at them when you get back!

We're moving around alot as we couldnt make up our mind which hotel we liked the most - so we are trying a few of the disney ones. If we ever go again though I'd like to spend at least one week in a villa just relaxing and taking it easier and seeing more of orlando other than disney :)
Awww no :( Do they allow you to bring back more if you pay a little extra?? Just incase you do go mad with the shopping

Excess Baggage is £7 per each kilo you bring back and apparently they are really strict. It's not too bad really - if i go 10kg over ( )i'll only have to pay £70 which isn't too bad really as you'd have to buy a lotof clothes to get to 10kg.
Someone suggested i ring up first choice and see if i can pay in advance for excess baggage which i might doas itcan work out cheaper. Iv saved sooo much so i really do want to go mad with shopping!

HOW MUCH!!   *Falls off chair* :afraid:
You leave a packed case there and we'll bring it back for you!! I've checked virgin's website and they charge £70 for each extra bag as long as it is under 32kg. You should contact virgin and see if you can just send a bag with them, im sure i've read somewhere that they might do things like that, for example if someone is moving abroad  But definately give first choice a ring and see if you can pay in advance, because surely they would offer a discount for that - if not, give them a slap from me!!

I know - its very expensive for excess baggage it seems! I'm going to give them a call today (whilst my boss is away!) and see what they say. I dont really know what to say though - how can they give me a price if they dont know how much extra im going to bring back. I know im definately going to go over cos i usually take about 18!
If first choice cant do it i might think of other options like contacting virgin. My friend said when she cameback from florida they didnt weigh hers or her families luggage but i cant risk that! :D

Yeah, best to give them a ring, just have a rough guess at how much you might be bringing back. You could always try and find out how much it would cost to post items to your home. I'm thinking about doing that because there is a gorgeous stitch cookie jar that i've seen on a website and i'm hopeing I'll find one somewhere in disney - but theres no way it would fit in my suitcase  Dont worry, you'll get all your goodies home one way or another and thats the main thing
