Hi does anyone know if you have to buy earphones in economy with firstchoice. I know we did with airtours.
Also can you carry gas straightners in your checked luggage. I know you can not carry butane lighters.
Thanks.:wiggle:

We went with them a couple of months ago and they just handed them out for free.

Can you use your own headphones? I usually do when I go on a flight!

Most have the double headed jack thing but plugging my Senheisser 500's worked for me last year!

If this is a naughty comment and you're not actually allowed to do it then ignore this post!

It's fine! you're allowed to use your own headphones :)

I like the Sen'500s for home, for the plane I use BOSE noise cancelling ones. Stupid price :( but I turn them on and the engine noise disappears (well down to a very low hum at least). Worth every penny!

I can't explain adequately how good they are

People kept telling me to get the bose quietcomfort 2 headphones. I thought yeah yeah, bit quieter that's all but no! They really do analyse the outside noise like the engine noise and cancel it out almost altogether! *truly* amazing.

good question.... they've fitted every aircraft I've been on in the last few years. They come with a 3.5mm adapter (normal size) and with an adapter to change it to the "2 plugs" type which the airplanes used to use.

I reckon they'd work just fine!

I've got some Sony Fontopia headphones now:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=73020&_LOC=UK

they do a pretty good job of cancelling noise! If I was a little more flush however, I'd be buying some of these...

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7352.htm

Again a crazy price, but who else can say they've had £150 in each ear?!

:p

neither of those are noise cancelling though and it makes SUCH a difference on a plane it really really does.
