One of my friends has been on the Disney Cruise and they loved it. Is it really that great? Better than staying in the park?

They told me I should really try it, should I?

We are! And we can't wait!

I think that people have all sorts of opinions on cruising. Nearly everyone I've spoken with has loved cruising - even a lady that kept swearing to me that she would NEVER cruise. She went on her first cruise (not Disney) last Oct and absolutely loved it! She's even planned one for next May with her DH, DS and DS's girlfriend!

So, even tho I've been reluctant to go on a cruise, I finally let DH talk me into it! And what better way to start but with a Disney cruise? After all, I'm a big Disney fan. So why wouldn't I enjoy a Disney cruise?

You can find lots of info about the cruise here:

I've not been on it but i think it looks fab and would love to give it a try. I can't see it being better than staying onsite at Disney though. You can't wake up one morning and decide to go to Animal Kingdom! :D

The funny thing about the Disney Cruise as it's Disney, but with an elegant, surreal touch. The Cast Members are international - the blend of accents and cultures is wonderful. They are also some of the best CM's I've ever met. These people find it a priviledge to work for Disney, as opposed to just a summer job, or an internship to a bigger one. They work hard, and have learned that it's a relatively small ship, so have learned to also make it fun.

The design of the ship takes me back, mentally, to an earlier period of time, as the decor is a tad bit art deco, with a modern flair. I imagine myself in a beaded gown while on the top of the carpeted stairs, staring down into the gilded lobby below.

Also, because the ship holds a maximum number of people, it can only hold a limited amount. Things do book up fast, but due to fire codes and regulations, you don't feel overcrowded, even when the ship is full. No strollers to bite my ankles, no swarming at the end of a nighttime show.

There's also a ton of stuff to do onboard. They cater to singles, couples, children, and teens, and there never seems to be a lack of stuff going on. Add to that the pools, restaurants, spa, and downtime (needed!) and it's well worth the experience.

I can't say enough about Disney cruising.
