Hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary (the reason for the cruise) on 11 Sept. Bev and her DH will also be celebrating their anniversary.

Should we tell the cruise folks that we are celebrating???

Have any of you ever celebrated a special occasion while onboard? And what was it like? I have no idea how special occasions are treated/handled on a cruise.

You could try gatecrashing at Palos grandma!
There is a separate "private" dining room at the far end of the restaurant where I saw Captain Tom, his wife and other senior crew mambers dining on several evenings on the 7 day cruise.
He also occasionally "breakfasted" in Lumiere`s.

It depends on whether you want to spend any more $$s Donna, there is a

Romantic Escape At Sea package which includes:

Romantic gift amenity delivered to your stateroom (one per package)

Couples massage at the Vista Spa & Salon

Priority seating at Palo for one night

Romance turn down service (one night)

Champagne breakfast in bed (one morning)

but this will add another $339 per couple to the cruise

or

You could book a romantic dinner in Palo's with a nice bottle of champagne and you could buy a Happy Anniversary/Wedding Memory Box, as a wonderful and romantic keepsake for your memories. It has a built-in pocket, elegant photo frame and 4 mailable photo cards with envelopes. It costs $49.00

You should definitely, tell Guest Services.

I think if it were me, I'd go for the first one  , I think that's quite reasonable for both of you.

Already booked! Funny story here... I called Cinderella (who is handling our cruise travel for us) to book the Romantic Escape package as a surprise for our cruise. At the time it was too early for me to actually book it, so I just planned on doing it later. In the meantime, John called Cinderella and asked to book the same package! She emailed me immediately asking what to do! So I told her to go ahead and let John book it!

So we have our reservation for Palo and our massages reserved, as well!

That's the sort of thing Chris and I do, it just shows how in tune with each other you are.

I was able to surprise him when we went to Disneyland in May. Cinderella let me know that DL had just started a Romance Package there, so I booked it. The hardest part about keeping it a secret is that he made the hotel reservation with her and his name was on all the paper work! She let me know in advance when it was coming to the house so I could remove any "incriminating" documents!!! LOL

Actually the packet was FULL of stuff I didn't want him to see - special romance pins, certificates for meals and massages, etc. So I was really glad she alerted me!

When we cruised with P&O they dealt with special occasions for you (and for free!!!)

At dinner the table would be decorated with balloons with Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary on them and the servers would all gather round and sing (Happy Birthday for the birthdays and Congratulations for the anniversaries). They also brought out a cake with candles for the birthdays and desserts with sparklers in and a glass of champagne for the couples.

I'm astounded that Disney doesn't do something similar - or better!!!

It has already been done

Our anniversary was last week and was before we boarded the ship so I didn't note it on our reservation. The first night at dinner our server asked hubby if we were celebrating anything, I must not have been at the table because I don't remember it, and they brought out a cake at dinner the next night. I took a picture of it and will post it when I get a chance. It was lovely to look at but way to sweet for my taste
