Fear Factor at US

Anyone been to US since the Fear Factor started?
What was it like? :)

Alysia and I went last week. They have 4 contestants and they perform 3 challenges. Nothing nearly as gross as the tv show. They also have some people from the audience come down and put their head in a tank full of live things. Scorpians when we were there. They also had some others drink some nasty blended things.

I definately wouldn't be volunteering for the Fear Factor...don't even know if I could watch it although I did watch it on TV sometimes:shrug: :)

Is there nothing stunt based? I loved the tv show, but only for the crazy stunts!!! I always wished I could drive off a building in a Mustang or dive into the sea from a 'copter. Obviously can't do that in this show tho, plus I'd probably never actually do it anyway. :blush:

I thought the creatures n eating tasks were evil! Great to watch tho! :mwaha:

The 4 main contestants do the stunt challenges. The first challenge was them hanging from the ceiling of the theater while lots of air was blown in their face. The second challenge was this thing where they had teams. One person was hooked up to the ceiling and would swing and had to throw octopus guts into the bucket the other person on the ground was holding. The third challenge was climbing a wall and getting flags and then this thing with a suspended car. It was pretty neat. Not nearly as exciting as the tv show but I expected that. They take people who want to participate about an hour or so before the show starts.

They did win prizes. The grand pize winner won some Universal stuff. The others got Fear Factor stuff.

I'd volunteer if I thought there weren't going to be any bugs...it's just my luck that if I got pulled out then they'd bring on some horrible creepy crawlies :(

Having to eat something nasty would put me off too ... I am a plain eater at the best of times and I don't like sauces much :lol:

The people that get picked for the stunts aren't eating anything gross. They were touching those dead octopus.

But when they were touching the dead octopus did they know what it was? I would touch an octopus but I bet if I didn't know what it was I'd be very apprehensive about it!

They knew everything that would happen to them ahead of time.

Well, of course, I want others to do it, but there is no way that I could do it.

I've only thought about tossing cookies twice while watch the show. I guess that's truly interactive tv. :)

I thought I had answered this before.

There are 2 sets of contestants. The first set is the one that does the stunts and they win the big prize. They also are the ones that had to throw and catch the dead, stinky octopus. The second set of contestants came out between each stunt. One guy had to put his head in this thing and they put a huge scorpion in with him. The other people had to eat this blended up mixture of bugs and dead yucky stuff.

I didn't go because i was afraid of being disgusted since the TV show. Actually, back when Fear Factor justcame out it was just people on top of high building etc. Now it is about eating things that aren't normal.
