Your thoughts on Spoodles

Any one tried this? Any recommendations? I am kinda excited about this place, but DH doesn't like anything too spicy or exotic. Will he do ok here?

We tried this place for the first time on Thursday. Liked it so much we went back on Sat.

I ordered the New York Strip steak. It was so good and I was able to cut it with a butter knife. DH wasn't so thrilled with his seafood paella.

Spoodle's. When it first opened, it was THE place to go. Local food critic, Scott Joseph agreed.

As time wore on, Johnie's experience became the norm. Some things are really good, others not so great. No real consistency. Their tapas are still fun, but they've not changed or expanded that portion of the menu in the longest time. :sigh:

Well worth a try. The coffee there is wonderful.

We dined here on Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. The server was very friendly and the service was very efficient. I must admit, I thought it was nothing special food-wise, although DH said that it was one of the best pieces of steak he had ever had. The kids enjoyed the 'make-your-own' ice-cream and my creme brulee was delicious. I just thought it was so-so, nothing special atmosphere-wise.

We ate there last January and really enjoyed it. I had the New York strip as well, so maybe getting steak is the key.

We have eaten there once and we plan to go back but just haven't been able to fit it into our schedule. I'm looking forward to trying that Paella that Johnie's DH didn't particularly care for, but then again I like squid. :D

Oh yes, we did that one year. We ordered 4 of the appetizers along with a salad and shared them all. It was definitely the way to go
