I'd say yes if not only for the shopping but for the AC at PI!

There's lots to see around DTD and lots of shopping to be had

Definitely interesting! As JM noted, the AC at night in PI. Shopping and dining throughout DTD.

Even if you aren't a shopper/browser, it's fun to just look around for a bit. I usually spend about 3 to 4 hours one day during each visit. And I'm not a shopper! :)

I think so

Its nice to stroll around, relax, look at all the different shops, have a nice meal, go to the movies, or to Pleasure Island. Watch Cirque du Soleil, the kids in the fountains.

I personally love the Xmas shop...

Oh yes, definately go. If you have time go to the cinema....I don't know if you are from the UK, but if you are, the cinema there is quite unlike any UK one I have been to!

Like Taja, I'm not a shopper. But I do plan on at least one visit to DTD to pick up souvenirs, our annual Christmas ornaments, and other little things I can't resist!

mcminnie If you have the time Iwould pop over to DTD, it is really wuite nice to just window shop and take in the sights!

Donna I love to go to the christmas store too! I always get a nice ornament (all the same) with everyones name on it and then I pick out a different ornament for each person. One day I hope to have an all disney decorated tree. I have enought for a small tree but the ornaments are too big for it.

Thanks everyone - have come to the conclusion it is certainly worth a visit. From what most of you say it is better to go in the evening - yes? Have any of you been to the cinema? How does it differ from British cinemas? Look forward to hearing from you all.

Have a nice day.

Downtown Disney is definitely worth a few visits.
If you go in the evening it is so pretty with all the lights reflecting off the lake.
The Disney Store is huge and you can wander around for ages.
I love the Christmas shop and the Scrapbooking store.
Then get yourself a coffee, or a margerita, sit by the water and relax!

We went to the cinema on our last visit there. The seats are massive and you get tons of legroom. Where we were sitting the armrest came up, so you could practically make the seat into a sofa, very nice!

Another nice thing to do is hire a boat and explore the waterways:thumbs:

I agree:thumbs: this is a wonderful Cinema! We were absolutely spoiled after we went to two shows there on our last trip. I would also recommend getting passes to DisneyQuest if you can do it. Very fun place to spend a couple of hours. We went there on our arrival day as we had a very early flight and our rooms would not be ready for a while.

My DW and I also enjoy going for a stroll over to Westside during the day when it`s less crowded.
There are some very interesting shops there.

DTD is a part of every trip to WDW for us. Of course, I'm a shopper. Even if you are not, go to Rainforest Cafe' for at least one meal (lunch is usually not as busy as dinner).
