Animal Kingdom Lodge

Has anyone stayed recently at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Did you have a good view of all the animals from the lodge? Was the food good?

I stayed at AKL a couple of years ago and it was awesome. Food good where? I've had both breakfast and dinner at Boma and both were yummy. If you have breakfast at Boma be sure to have the house juice. it's awesome!

We've stayed there and loved it! Just off our balcony we saw all sorts of wildlife!!! And walking around the resort is a treat. It is so fascinating!

There are two restaurants at AKL - Boma and Jiko. Both are wonderful! Boma serves both breakfast and dinner, Jiko only dinner. There is also a food court called "Mara".

Animal Kingdom Lodge is our favorite resort. We've stayed there twice and both times were extremely magical. Any savannah view room will get you views of the animals right from your balcony, but there are also lots of viewing stations all around the lodge for your enjoyment. Don't forget to explore the Arusha Rock area at night! There's often a cast member there with a night scope for evening viewing! And try the filet over macaroni & cheese at Jiko's - talk about the ultimate comfort food!!! And the breakfast juice mentioned before at Boma's is called "Frunch". I also highly recommend it!!

AKL is one of those places that after you've stayed there, whenever you walk in again, you say "Ah, I'm home again".

We stayed at AKL on one of our summer vacations on the way to the beach. As we were staying a week at the beach we were on a budget for this impromptu visit to WDW. We had a room that did not view the animals. But it didn't bother us at all as we could walk out to the many viewing areas & see the animals. Plus we didn't spend that much time in the room. The AKL is a fantastic resort that you won't be disappointed in choosing. If you stay, eat breakfast at Bomas. It's great!

My DD and I stayed there the end of April and we absolutely loved it!!!! We did not have a savannah view (it was too pricey at the time even with the annual pass discount) but we did have a pool view. You could walk around though and see the animals everywhere. The lobby is so beautiful and Boma was great - we ate breakfast there. We would definitely stay there again. The castmembers were so great there too. Rooms were beautiful and the beds were so comfortable!

I really liked the Mara for a counter service meal. The food was excellent and plentiful. Meals could easily be split. It also offered more than the standard chicken and burgers fare. I highly recommend the African stew.
