I am flying with Virgin booked through expedia in 2 weeks time. With the possibility of airport closures do you think expedia would change the holiday. I am starting to think California could be a much nicer holiday this time of year.
Does anyone know what Expedia are like at changing holidays? I have also booked my hotel with them (pre-paid). Or should I wait to see what is going to happen with the fuel.

I`d be very surprised if they would change your destination at such short notice, and if the fuel shortage does take effect, the chances are that it would have a "knock on" affect to all destinations, not only MCO.
For what it`s worth, we are flying out in a few weeks time and I have absolutely no intention of re-scheduling unless it is absolutely necessary.

:iagree: I know what has happened in NO is terrible, but not going to Orlando won't help IMO. If you are considering changing to elsewhere in the USA, the fuel shortage IF it happens will be across the whole country.
We booked knowing it was hurricane season. Last year showed us it can happen, but we took a chance and we're sticking with it. Florida needs our support.

I've got to agree with Paula - there is no point in cancelling. I am a great believer in fate and will only cancel if I am made to. You can only hope & pray that things work out OK.

No personal experience with Expedia due to their policy. I don't do non-refundable anything! And that is part of their terms and conditions.
Quite honestly, I would stick with your original plans. Even if they are willing to change your itinerary, it most likely will be expensive.
If you're really concerned, contact Expedia and ask them what the policy is and what fees/additional charges would be incurred.

Try not to worry too much, two weeks is a long time and I'm sure all is being done to re-source and move fuel to where it's needed.

Im in disney now and having a great time! :)
I still havent heard of flight problems and on the tv earlier they were detailing the extra oil supplies that have been arranged (though they're talking about a week or so for them to come on stream)
I reckon if anything, this week will see the worst of any problems and towards end next week Im guessing extra supplies will have got there etc.
