That happens to me every now and again. I thought it was just my computer.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a little problem. :D There are a boatload of smilies all on one page, and many of them active. Your browser may be trying to load them all before displaying them. Mine hangs up too. I keep a page, once it's loaded (mine takes 2-3 minutes to fully load; have timed it) in the background, or minimized, and use that all day, if that helps.

The only other option that I know of is to beg Joanne to split them into separate pages again.

working ok on deer park alpha (firefox upgrade) take about 45 secs to load, have you changed any IE settings

Always takes ages for them to load for me and the message I'm typing seizes up until they start loading

I'm happy to split them into categories again, I prefer it that way, but when I put it to poll people voted for them as they are

Chris/Lisa

not had a problem before - just seems to be doing it today

Jo can you just do miltiple pages without the catagories? I can never remember waht catagory I'm looking for but two or three pages may be quicker

Perhaps if it is a functionality issue you could just pull rank and we would all just have to accept what the boss says:D

Alphabetical order would be good so if for instance we wanted a slap :slap:, we'd look in the page that contained the 'O-T' smileys. You could split it into 4 pages of 6 letters or something then  or would that take ages to organise. LMK if I can help.

Here here!

Jo, I think people answer a poll and then when the functionality hits over time, they might change their opinion. It's kind of a fun novelty to see them all hopping and boobling at once, but it would be nice to see them split again. I can help, too.

As Paula suggested, could you use letters of the alphabet as "categories"? I was looking for one particular smilie and couldn't find it. I know it's there, but I didn't know which category it was in!

I missed the poll, but would prefer multiple pages, regardless of how they are categorized. The massive smilie list is not dial-up friendly. But since I'm too frugal to go with a faster service at this time, I just accept that some things are going to be slow.

And the forums in general do load much faster now--as long as no one posts a massive graphic!

If you want the smilies re-categorised I'll have to see if there is a hack that works on this version of VB. Plus, it will take a while to do and I won't be able to start until next week now.
