Does anyone know if the Disneyworld buses are likely to be affected by any possible fuel shortages?

Thanks!

We havent heard anything on that front yet.

There are a few boardmembers there (mmmh..mmmh.. Keith, psst, over here...) ... maybe they can find out about it

Nope. Was there today. Buses, boats, taxis, vans, (and monorail, but that doesn't count, eh) all running full tilt. Gas on WDW property is $2.98 gallon.

That's good news!

We're not actually going until 20th October - do you think there's likely to be any problems in the future?

Couldn't tell you. That's a "we'll have to wait and see how it plays out" sort of thing.

Yep - hopefully the fuel situation won't take too long to start getting back to normal.

I heard a bus driver laugh and say they had enough fuel to run a small city for a year but hmmmmm. Anyway I'll ask a couple of drivers later and see what they say but so far as Tink says, everything is absolutely fine

Keith, I think the bus driver may be right. Many places buy their fuel in large quantities at a set price about a year in advance.

I do wonder if they will start to conserve energy a bit more. Example: wait for a bus to get more people on it before they run it.

yeah absolutely :) he was just a bit ott being positive if you know what I mean. I don't doubt Disney have reserves though

Buses run every 20 minutes normally don't they? So I would have thought they'd maybe start running them every 30 minutes instead, something like that, so they'd save the fuel in one bus every hour!

On another note - does disneyworld have any electric or gas powered buses?

Gas on property yesterday $2.98. Station just off property - $3.16  i'm really glad I filled up before I left property last night.

I noticed busses waiting for more people this trip then in the past

I don't think they would, unless they are cutting back but so little that you cannot really tell.
