I found the state sales tax at 6%, but depending on where you get it, there will also probably be a county and or city sales tax as well.

Hopefully a local can help you out with a better answer.

I bought some ipod accessories on my last trip to Orlando and looking at the receipt the sales tax was 6.5%.

It is probably cheaper to buy in the US, but not a huge amount when you compare it to the likes of Amazon.

I was also thinking of buying an ipod in America but i was worried about the charger plug. Can you buy them over there with a uk plug or some sort of adaptor. Also i thought about getting a gameboy SP but again there is the problem with the plugs and voltage. Can anyone help

All you need is a US to UK adaptor, unless you have a Mac. then you can charge it through that.

Shame we can't claim back the sales tax.....when we went to Canada we were allowed to claim it back as we were visitors.....so why not for the U.S.??

We got a lovely refund from our trip to Vancouver a couple of years ago too :). However in Florida (I think) the tourist tax creates revenue for the local residents.
