I have just been reading the thread about ' Florida Weather Update'
and I am a little confused...........Should I be worrying about a hurricane hitting us when we are in Florida. We leave on Saturday for two weeks.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will come along in a minute but I think there's just a good chance that you're going to get a little wet at some point!
From personal experience - make sure you take more than one pair of comfy shoes as it can be a pain waiting for them to dry out.

You'll see rain but Ophelia isn't a hurricane. Here's the 3 day "cone" from the 11 am update from the National Hurricane Center

Thank Goodness.
I expect that we will get wet, but as long as we have a couple of nice days to go to the water parks!:D

This time of year you dont expect a hurricane but they are more likely than normal, just keep an eye on the weather channel when you get there - have fun!

Hurricane season runs from June through November. This time of year is considered part of the peak season for those storms.
Ophelia is expected (fervently hoped) to keep off the shore and continue north. It could also become a category one hurricane.

Basically - no one know what she's going to do.
I wish she'd go drown at sea

drowning at sea is not something I'd normally wish upon others....
...but in this case, it sounds like a great idea.

Just got off the phone w/my sis in Jax Beach, FL and she said they had the most beautiful day there today...go figure...I'd have thought at least some rain and rough surf! It seems Ophelia will be moving north but no one is sure whether it will go east or west.:fingers: its east!
