You can request a room with two double beds if you are not using the sofa bed in the living room for DS. I have not stayed there yet but there a lots who have who I guess will be around soon with further advice :D

2 dbl beds is a good idea as DS thrashes around a lot:shrug: and we WILL be using the sofa bed cause a certain member of our party snores like a train. (Mentioning no names of course!):D
Any other ideas, tips or opinions on BCV will be gratefully received:)

steery1,
Whoops! In the 1BR at the BCV, you get a king sized bed in the master BR and then a fold out couch in the LR. (There is just one configuration for the 1BR)
Here's a floor plan:

As far as the views, we've had a pool view room and woodland view at the BCV. I like the woodland view because it is nice and quiet. I believe there is also an EPCOT view. (We haven't tried that one yet. )

Sorry, I thought there was a choice of 2 queens or 1 king in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room

DS tends to have an afternoon nap so the pool view room may be a little noisey for us. EPCOT view sounds interesting though (anybody stayed in one?) and woodland view sounds nice too.:)
I suppose anywhere is good - its Disney and will be my first time on site.:D
Hoooooooooooraaaaaaaaay !!!!:rotfl: :wiggle:
Tell me more stuff please. I'm soooo excited now I can't wait!:D

triciacarole,
I think that would be a nice option. :)
Here's a link to some more floor plans... (There is also a dedicated 2BR with the 2 qu option, but we don't have that floor plan) (http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?p=309941#post309941)

steery1,
When you make the reservation, you should have them note your preferences. We generally request non-smoking and take potluck on the room location.
At one time, folks used to follow up with a fax to the room assigner a couple of days prior to departure. I have heard that they discontinued this and/or strongly frown upon this/ignore your fax.
I have also seen occasions where on check in, folks were asking which rooms were available before deciding which one to take. One time, I saw a fellow who brought a map of the resort and was asking which rooms were available and checking their location on his map--apparently discussing the pros and cons of each room location with the CM as they were being offered up. I have no idea if this method was effective because I don't know if the fellow was happy with his room once he finally made his decision. (He was there after we checked in and were assigned a room. :D )
Let us know how you make out. :D (When are you going?)

This is the Epcot view:

And at night:
http://www.disneyguest.com/images/boards/beach_club-epcot-01.jpg
To get the Epcot view, you'll need to ask for a room in the area in yellow and on the top floor, anything under will be blocked by trees. The area in red is also blocked by trees:

The pool view is not any noisier unless you are on the bottom floor. Just close the door to the balcony.

Thanks SM the map look good :D. The Epcot view is not all that important to us but we need to be close to the hotel for the shops and restaurant facilities as DD has mobility problems and can not walk far, where would be the best for us? We do not need a handicapped room or first floor just as long as she does not have to walk too far, she also has asthma so non-smoking is a must.
Thanks for your help :D

Non-smoking is an easy request for guest services.
Proximity might be harder. Even the most convenient room is still in the DVC Villas building which is separated from the main Inn building where the Lobby and resturants are located.

A short stroll is fine if that is possible? :)

steery1,
When you make the reservation, you should have them note your preferences. We generally request non-smoking and take potluck on the room location.I agree...just call and have them add your requests to your ressie:wink:
At one time, folks used to follow up with a fax to the room assigner a couple of days prior to departure. I have heard that they discontinued this and/or strongly frown upon this/ignore your fax.I've heard almost the same. What I've heard is that only the deluxe resorts that have concierge are still taking faxed requests and that all others are basically being tossed and ignored because there are just too many to keep up with:shrug: Not sure how much (or not) truth there is to it but it does make sense that they are probably overwelmed.
-DC :ears:Okay...being that you booked through Disney directly and not DVC, I'm not sure since their inventory is different (CRO retains something like 4% of the inventory for direct cash ressies) if they utilize a different system BUT as for DVC I know that BCV's utilizes pre-assigned rooms. We stayed in a 1bdrm for 9 nights last year in Sept. and were there over hurricane Jeanne. We checked in around 7:30pm on a Friday night and with all the extra check-ins and outs from people both leaving early and arriving early to avoid the hurricane, I was really afraid of ending up with a lousy location due to having checked in so late. Low and behold though, we not only got a great location, but had ALL of our requests met and I was nothing short of shocked. The CM checking us in said after my expressing my utter delight and surprise that the room had been blocked off some time ago and had been pre-assigned. :D So of course after returning home from our trip and giving our trip report on one of my message boards, it was brought to my attention that it was indeed because BCV's utilizes pre-assigned room check in. Now OKW on the other hand utilizes "ROOM READY" check-in where they basically say okay, here is what is ready and available and where and they'll let you pretty much choose as dc mentioned about this gentlemen. The down side to "room ready" though is that if you are unable to check in early you may get stuck with slim pickens:( It works great if you can check in early in the day but it's somewhat unfair to those who may be flying in late in the day and therefore checking in late. But anyway, as I said, not sure if booking direct changes how the rooms are assigned or not but if they do it the same way as DVC then your room at BCV's anyway should be being Pre-assigned:blush:
As for good location/View....our 1bdrm that trip was pool view on the 3rd floor and we loved it. Didn't find it noisy at all but that may have been due to having considerate neighbors:shrug: Not sure ....I can say though that I couldn't even hear the noise from the hurricane. It was like a fortress! I had to actually get up and look out the window to see what was happening with the storm because I sure couldn't hear what was happening:) From what I'm hearing also, Epcot view can no longer be requested....no idea what the logic behind it is:shrug: But I've heard that a few times. Personnally, I didn't care for Epcot view...we had a studio once - 5th floor Epcot view - and it also gives a view of the service road-- that we found noisy and somewhat unattractive:p We also had a studio once with the woods/courtyard view and that was very nice....you could also see the fireworks above the trees with that view.
Sooooo.....theres my 2 cents (or maybe it was more like 50 cents lol:D )

Scoootch,
I had heard that, too--It was right after they started work on the Soaring Over California attraction. I had heard the reason for it was because the new attraction blocked some of the view, but looking at SM pictures, it looks like it is still possible to get a pretty good view of EPCOT. I would expect from where SM was located, he would be able to see the upper fireworks of Illuminations, maybe?
Oddly enough, we were really surprised to find that we had a view of Illuminations one time when we had a woodland view. We were all the way on the end on the second floor (can't find the room number). But, I suspect there are more woodland view rooms that have views of Illuminations. It's always cool to discover an unexpected bonus. :D
