Just checked both websites as i keep hearing that TCD is cheaper than all other airlines. Flying from Manchester on 2/3 July 2006 with a 4 door car with full platinum insurance costs only £69 more with virgin than TCD. Worth the extra for peace of mind i think

TCD are supposed to be cheaper but I do a search on here and check out other peoples opinions on TCD before booking with them.

If its only £69 chosing Virgin you will know that if the plane goes technical (something that happens often on TCD so I have heard) at least Virgin will have planes on hand to get you to your destination

VIRGIN. There a alot more perks with virgin

1. Lands at MCO instead of Sandford
2. More than double luggage allowance( 2x 32kg)
3. Probably better entertainment
4. Scheduled airline
5. Airmiles

The list goes on

Virgin every time. TCD might be £69 cheaper but with Virgin Holidays you also get a free meal at Hard Rock. Put a price on that and you could knock that £69 down by half.:) Tony

I have used TCD and never so far (touch wood :D ) had a problem, but my savings were much more than that........if I was only saving £69.00 I too would go with Virgin.........

We would have saved £250 on our flydrive paying brouchure price from TCD and VH. I'd have paid that in excess baggage charges had I only had 20 kilos allowance! :hehe: Plus we like to go for 16 or 17 nights, TCD are very regimented in their booking policies. I just wouldn't risk it either.

After using my FC miles and booking direct with VA, Virgin beat TCD by quite a bit. :D

TCD seem to be cheaper at peak times which unfortunately for me is the only time that I can go. After my experience this year I'd love to go with Virgin next year but I've already priced it and TCD are £500 cheaper.

we were booked with tcd for next year but after this years bad trip with them cancelled with them as soon as we got home, rebooked with first choice for 3 weeks and they were much cheaper than tcd.:) :) :)

I personally wouldn't go with TCD as I hear they use older planes, and that alone makes me nervous =/

Recent trip with Tcd was last minute change( due to bombings we had intended on going to Turkey) couldnt get price anywhere near with virgin.

However for ANY extras you need to pay:
Seating together
Baggage allowance
Early check in on day of departure

We flew Virgin last year and our next two trips are booked with them.
We didnt have a BAD experience with Tcd and if price was good in future I might use them again however SOOOO many reports of delays etc if difference was £69 I know who Id choose!!

Tvs in seat backs, abilty to book seats with no charge and double baggage allowance makes big difference.Free meal at HARD ROCK well worth it to ,we ate there and paid this time and had SAME food as what we had last year for FREE with priority seating .Downtown disney check in very smooth too.Plus airport transfer from Orlando far quicker than Sanford

It looks like todays 12 o'clock from Gatwick hasn't gone. The problem they have is that Sanford closes at midnight. If the plane can't land before then, they don't leave.

Travel City or Virgin? Do you also like extreme sports? Betting on ridiculous things? Taking silly chances?
Firstly I can never understand why anyone compares TCD with Virgin. There are loads of other airlines who you can compare flights and costs with and why anyone compares these two I will never understand. Its a bit like chalk and cheese.
Thursday mornings TCD flight from Gatwick to Sanford set off on Friday morning. Who can you compare that with? Last weekend a TCD flight from Sanford to Gatwick was 19 hours late.
There is no comparison.

:iagree: Virgin are in a whole different league to TCD. It's a bit like comparing Man Utd. to Accrington Stanley

Nut ~ What I was saying was that the flight was delayed so long it couldn't leave in enough time to land at Sanford, so as Terry said, they bumped everyone again. They must know after say 2 hours that the planes not going anywhere or delayed too long to take off. How a company with such a large fleet has no back up planes is beyond me :ohdear:
