YES! ALWAYS carry any medicaitons you depend on in your carryon bag.
If you need injections, bring a note from your doctor to avoid any problems with security

Are you flying with Virgin? if so , this is the official fluff! :D
If you have a medical reason that means you need to inject during the flight you are permitted to carry syringes in the cabin. However, you must be able to produce medical evidence, such as a doctor’s letter when you check in or at security screening. The letter should be kept with you at all times. All medication must bear a label indicating the name of the medication and the person to whom it is prescribed.
Limited quantities of medicines and toiletries that you need during the flight may be carried.

Definitely - I have severe migraine and stupidly backed all my medication in my luggage. All our cases got left in Manchester (TCD again!) we arrived on Thursday, the cases on Sunday! I had to contact the insurance company who agreed to pay for me to see a doctor but fortunately I managed to hold on. From now on I'll always make sure all medication is in my hand luggage.

Dawn your statement from virgin says about limited quantities of medication needed during the flight may be taken onboard. I really dont want to risk taking my medication in the hold. I would be in big trouble if it went missing. But its not something I am going to need during the flight just daily during my holiday
Do you think it would be ok to take it.

We take all the medication needed for the whole trip in hand luggage, and that is a large quantity. My husband has never been stopped, searched or questioned about it.

Just be sure to keep it in the original containers with labels. If you purchase medications in very large quantity, ask your pharmacist if he/she can package what you need for the trip plus about 5 days (my margin of caution in case of emergencies!) and label it for you. My pharmacy (US) charges for that--I don't know how yours would work. It can't hurt to ask! :)
