Can anybody tell me which is the best block to stay in. I've heard that either the tower block or resort block are the best.
If anyone has stayed there recently can you let me know your views.
thanks

I haven't stayed there but we almost did last year before getting an upgrade to Pop Century, so we did a lot of research! If I remember rightly the tower block is the best place to stay (nicer rooms, less external noise etc) but they have air conditioning problems quite a lot. My plan was to request tower block then if the air conditioning was kazumped I'd ask for another room!
Hope I helped! :D

thanks wesd, a lot of people seem to recommend the tower block.
I wonder what the difference is compared to the other blocks though

I believe the rooms in the tower block are slightly larger than the others. I think I've also read somewhere that they are a bit newer. Not sure about that though so don't quote me on it!

We stayed at the HI I-Drive three weeks ago and it was fine. We were in the tower which is seperate from the main building but there are rooms in the main building too, although I didn't see inside them.
The room was large and the air conditioning was very effective but quite noisy. The decor and fittings were not brand new but were clean and well maintained.
The pool isn't massive but was big enough for the kids to have a quick play in when we returned from the parks. It has a pool bar which is handy but again the pool is part of the main building complex and if you're in the tower it's a bit of a trek to get there in your cozzies! (But not impossible!)
All in all if you're just looking for somewhere to rest your weary head it's ideal. If you're looking for a luxury hotel to spend time relaxing in I'd look elsewhere.
We'd stay there again. :)

I've stayed in both blocks and if I stayed there again I'd request a tower room just for the views. Overall the tower rooms were slightly bigger but there was no real difference in the quality of the rooms in either location.
