They are both great, it would be a shame to miss them.

Very hard to say - there's lots of fun at the parks you already have planned, but loads to do also at US/IOA. Why not see how the holidays going half way through and then decide? You can get a two day ticket at the gate if you do decide to go

I'm probably not the best person to comment as I've never been to US or IoA (we're saving them for next time) but if you're planning on going back to Florida at some point in the future I think I might save the other parks for then. It sounds like you've got enough planned this trip to easily keep you busy for a couple of weeks plus I believe from what I've read that your youngest ones might enjoy US and IoA more when they're a bit older. Alec's idea is a very good one though...

Yeah I agree with Iona, they may enjoy it more when they're older. Athough I'd say if you like thrill rides you should definately go!

I'm Going in October with my DD who is planning to do WDW. both Universal parks, Sea World, no end of shopping malls, as many Walmarts she can find ,plus if I'm not burnt out I might be able to do a trip to Kennedy Space Center with my Grandson. Also spend a couple of days with friends who live in Orlando. I might need another 2 weeks rest when I get back but I LOVE it:D . Don't miss the 2 Universal parks the whole family will love them. There is something for everyone.

I think IOA would be a good visit for your kids, the younger ones would definately enjoy the Dr Seuss land, and the 13 year old would no doubt enjoy the Marvel Island and Jurassic Park areas. I wouldn't like to miss it on my trip. My first trip to Florida was when I was 11, IOA wasn't open back then but we went to all Disney Parks and US, Universal Studios was by far my favourite! I think I was a little unusual tho, so I wouldn't use me as the rule. I think US would be a little boring for the younger ones tho, so maybe leave that till another time (and there will be another time!) :D
Opinion: Do IOA
Consider US (if the younger ones are OK at Epcot then they should be fine here!)

We went to both in 2001 and thought they were ok, but I can't say I'm in a rush to go back. I'm not a thrill ride person though.....and it is definately geared more towards the thrill rides

With children in that age range, I would drop Kennedy Space Centre and go to US, IOA.

 Good idea. We tend to split and take DD (now 15) somewhere seperate each trip. DH is taking him to Universal Halloween Horror night this trip:afraid:
Didn't think the girls would appreciate it.:D

I would say definetly don't miss out on Universal Studios. Islands Of Aventure is geared more towards thrill rides as has already been said, but still worth a visit if only to ride the Spiderman ride, oh and the younger ones might enjoy meeting the super heros, you can have a character breakfast with them, not sure how much it costs though.

I think your children would enjoy IOA and US if you have time :)

I assume you are going for two weeks and agree that if you are not too tired that you try and fit in IOA & US.
We have been three times to Orlando and have visited IOA & US each time, whereas we have missed some of the Disney parks out of our visit's.
Last year my eldest (11 this year) got into the BIG rides, so we had fun on the Hulk etc, wile my youngest and my wife enjoyed the smaller rides like the flying unicorn etc.
We are off to Orlando for October half term week abd will stay at the Hard Rock Hotel for three nights and spend the days at the two parks before moving down to Kissimmee for the remainder of the week to do a couple of Disney parks and some shopping.
Hope you have a good visit and leave some time for relaxing and shopping.
