Are there any rides where you can use a camcorder? I would love to bring home 13 hours of video :hehe: , but I remember reading stories where the rides were stopped until camcorders were shut off. I thought I would ask instead of dying of embarrassment

Never heard of that! Perhaps it's impractical on the coasters but I've taken video of all the other rides I've been on over time... spaceship earth, buzz, IASW etc.

The only thing that is a huge no-no is using those video lights

Ahhhh ok! That must be what I was reading about, but couldn’t remember. Those were more the rides I was thinking of anyway. What better way to torture your friends and loved ones then with a video of IASW:evil:

I videoed so much one year that DH forbade me to take the camera the following trip.

You can use a camera on most rides unless there is a sign up as you go in. (As Keith says, as long as it doesn't have an external light)

I remember one year we kept the camera rolling all the way along Splash Mountain, even down the drop. We had a waterproof cover for the camera and it came out pretty well - just remember to hold on tight!

I really regret not taking a video camera with us last year - next time it will definitely be the first thing I pack!

 Me too Jenna...but without the waterproof thingy! It is so cool to relive that experience! Just love the music along the way..especially on the backside garden with the birds chirping "How do you do?" I thought I was the only one weird enough to do that:blush:

Er..umm...no offense...actually..the only one SMART enough to do that...:D

 I actually did a video clip on my digital camera last year on ToT and I'm not quite sure how I kept the camera straight! I'm glad I did it though, I love watching it back and it still makes me laugh even now how I'm screaming louder than the whole elevator (in my defence I think that's got something to do with me being closer to the camera than everyone else was though  - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Watchinherskip - great minds think alike! :D I know exactly what you mean about reliving it..."Time to be moving along" :sing: Love it!

Does anyone have a copy of Tarzan Rocks they taped? My DD LOVES the show and is so sad to see it closing. I'll gladly pay for tape/shipping! :)

We've used our videocamera on rides as well, Buzz, Aladdin, Pirates of the Carribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Kilomanjaro Safari and the Great Movie Ride. We've also been geeky enough to use it on the bus and monorail. ;)

I used our video recorder on nearly all the rides/attractions. The only ones that you are not allowed to film are the obvious ones like Kraken,Duelling Dragons,The Hulk and Dr Dooms fearfall etc. where it would be dangerous to either yourself or other guests. If in doubt ask a cast member.
