Okay I need advice. We're deciding on whether to book another trip to WDW next August and have been looking at prices. Now as most of you now I always fly Virgin, but we have stumbled across TCD. We have flown TCD sunchine upper before and it was ok. So here's the dilemma.

The TCD holiday with upgrades to sunshine premium and car, villa - well everything is £500 cheaper than economy seats, car and villa with Virgin.

Now do I have the cheaper but better TCD seats

OR

Be loyal to Virgin and get Twilight check in etc.

What do you think?

If you do a search on here for TCD you'll find many, many threads about them as well as Virgin. Have a read of those and then you can make your mind up.

Virgin. TCD may well bump you from the nice seats anyway and even if they don't the chances of you being delayed by potentially significant times, like a day, are much greater with TCD based on historical data.

I just don't think TCD are worth the risk

I flew Virgin last year, and will NEVER use them again.
just used TCD and the seats in economy are much better than Virgin BUT virgin does have TV's and TCD dont.
From what I,ve seen TCD's problems are nearly always at Manchester so bear that in mind.

Going on the still on-going naff reports of TCD lack of decent customer service when things do go wrong, it would still have to be Virgin for me.
Although I have been checking out First Choice recently as their new fleet seems pretty fandabbydosy...........so looking forward to hearing more reports on those. :)

When TCD clean up there customer Service act, they might be a maybe...

Maybe, I went from Gatwick there were people from all over on that flight, so maybe thats the case, it was a good flight there, and back.
the 747-300 was old coming back (still had ashtrays in the arms) refurbished with leather seats (abit sweaty after 7 hours flying).
But it was better than the flight I had with Virgin last year.
maybe it's just down to luck:shrug: I dunno.

What was up with the virgin flight you had? (sorry if you've said, I can't remember)

why dont you try getting a villa and carhire separately and go with a virgin flight, you will find its much cheaper that way IME, anyway. getting the whole package with virgin can seem to work out more expensive. also you earned miles with virgin last year would be a shame to waste them :D

Spoke to First Choice today. Very inflexible. I wanted 16 days but they only do 7, 14 or 21:( and the guy on the phone was NOT at all helpful

I'd never fly with TCD again - flew with them last year. We had no problems with the flights but no luggage when we arrived and that's when the problems started. They just didn't want to know. They've little backup when things go wrong. Stick with Virgin. I'm still waiting to hear form TCD over five weeks after my letter of complaint after being told that they would respond within 28 days etc

It will take a lot for me to ever use TCD again!

This is usually how we do it Mike but the flights are really pricey for August about £859 with Virgin. When we costed based upon those flights it was cheaper to have the package believe it or not. Never experienced this before mind you.

We haven't got enough miles to buy flights outright but we have looked into miles plus money. We just have to wait now for flights on the 17th Aug to come out - in about another week's time I think. Then we can can see if it is worth using our miles.:)

I think TCD has lost the vote then. just thought it may be worth a try.

thanks for all the advice guys. Will let you know what we decide.xx

This was with an online travel company - don't think I can mention the name. I think these are the prices we are up against because it's August. Dont get me wrong August wouldn't be my first choice but being a teacher its my only chance of going for a fortnight other than easter and we're going to Jamaica at Easter. I think we'll wait for miles plus money - lets put theses miles to the test!!

Is it the 17th coming back or going out? We just booked our flights August 5th-26th.

We used miles plus money and saved over £300! Would have been more if we knew DH and I needed a seperate account and that they didn't roll over into the one account.

Yep, we did it all online. Was a few minutes of panic though. Cause we booked our flights seperately, we were worried for the 2 minues it took to book Anthony's that PE would be full and he'd have to go economy :) Of course that didn't happen, we are the first people on those flights who have reserved their seats in PE anyway :)

Uh Oh starting to get worried now. We've booked with TCD for next October from Manchester. Have we done the right thing, will it all go horribly wrong. When we compared the prices with Virgin we have saved nearly £450. We have just booked a fly drive because we want to stay at Fairfield Inn, Marriott Village. Will we get there?

I would always wait for the sale personally. I would never pay more than £500 pp for a flight. Once January comes around the prices drop massively

I know what you're saying but I am restricted with holidays so we need to ensure we get what we can. Anyway I'd pay anything to be in WDW:lol:

Come on then - who really thought I'd sway to TCD? :rotfl: What do you think Iam mad! Just testing to see you were all awake!:p
ukwdwnut - I bet you knew I'd stick with Virgin - those all valuable flying club points mmm, great:D
Good old Virgin has won again.
