Just got back and had an Air Atlanta flight both ways, and guess what?
It was THE most comfortable flight EVER both both way!!:)
The leg room is WAY bigger than Virgin or MyTravel, I have never had such a stretch out in an economy seat!!!.
Now there are no TV's on these flights and the big screen was too far away to watch from where we were, but that was no big deal to us as I had bought gadgets galore to entertain us, DVD players, Gameboys, MP3 players, PDA with loads of boardgames such as monopoly and scrabble loaded so the TV's would,nt have been used anyway.
Coming back was slightly different though as in the seats were leather!
we had even more gadgets I bought a PSP and a Gameboy DS, The PSP was great because it's battery lasts for ages and I had bought loads of movies for it so the kids watched movies on that:thumbs:
One problem though was one of our cases went missing at gatwick, it has just been deliverd here this morning by courier! I dont blame Air Atlanta though because at Sanford we boarded and the captain called all boarded and closed the doors, THEN ten mins later said there was a missing passenger! and they had to off load his baggage :( oh great.
20mins later the muppet boarded, where was he? well Mr Genius had been sitting on a flight to Manchester!!! so when they were looking for his ONE bag in the 5 hundred on board 10 including one of ours got left behind!
(the fella got called some choice names)
so in closing TCD get a big:thumbs: and I would use them again.:)

woooo hoooo thank goodness for that, I know its just one flight but it gives hope, just 9 days to go now and wondering what sort of flight we are going to get, have been told many many times by tcd that it is definately NOT an Air Atlanta plane, but I am sure that is subject to change:rolleyes: 9 days to go 9 days to go 9 days to go and I am bored, bored bored, what can I do during the day with just me and the baby to get ready (and I'm not packing until next tues)

Even on domestic US flights there is no guarantee as to what type of plane you will be on, madmac! The airlines schedule like mad, but when more than one or two planes have to be taken out of service unexpectedly, they sometimes have to scramble to get the passengers on the affected flights to their destinations! I would think it's even more difficult for a charter company to shift gears!
:fingers: that everything goes smoothly for you!

We were told before hand it was a TCD plane and NOT an Air Atlanta plane, IE we had a 5a prefix on our tickets, but when we boarded it was indeed Air Atlanta.
BUT as soon as I sat in the seat I was surprised, I have flow loads of times on various carriers but this was a different kettle of fish, I am a big lad and am nearly always crunched up (cant book bulk head cos gotta look after the kids), Here I could actually stretch out in comfort
This was a Jumbo although an old one, it was a 747-300,
You will need DVD players as they only have a "big" screen which any small people including kids just wont be able to see above the seat height.
(there are none of the pop down monitors half way down from the screen either, just the main screen)
The shown movies were...well not worth watching is best said here, also shown was an episode of the simpsons and interviews with Lord of the rings cast and a long interview with Johnny Depp.
The cabin crew were as good as any I have had on other flights (with exception to American Airline who were EXCEPTIONAL)
Food was errr,,well I would,nt eat it BUT an old girl near me was making satisfied noises! (I,m diabetic and airlines NORMALY just give me fruit but they did,nt have any diabetic meals, which I allow for cos I brought my own tucker)
Alcohol? well again I dont drink the stuff anymore since becoming diabetic, but another older couple were putting it away lively, this meant one of them getting up each time a drink was required and fetching it themselves from the cabin crew lol they even took orders from thier neighbours at one point!.
I have no idea how the chap got on the Manchester flight instead of our Gatwick flight, he got passed 3 check points with his boarding card and was seated too!.
all in all though the Air Atlanta flights were in my experience as good as others I have flown with and as I have said before better than the Virgin Atlantic flights I have had.
One last thing, if you go with TCD use the Lake buena vista drop off it is GREATTTTTT!!!!! we got there at 9am dropped our bags off and got our seats allocated and issued our boarding cards.
there was only a few families in front of us which was a BIG difference to queing at Gatwick.
Gave us a whole day at MK from which we drove straight to Sanford at 4pm:)

Paul, we are off with TCD on Oct 15th so good to hear you had an acceptable flight. My son wants a psp for christmas and we were gonna get it when we were there if cheaper, is there a lot of difference in price? Hubby was glad to read about the leg room, he normally is a bit sqished (apart from American Airlines, which I agree was best flight we have ever had anywhere).
