View Full Version : transportation at wilderness lodge

we picked WL (actually the villas) because its a boat ride to the MK and we can get a monorail from there to epcot. is that right? i've seen some bad reviews of the tranportation there and am wondering if it's really bad or dated. anyone been there recently?

we're renting a car - does it make sense to just drive to AK and MGM?

Transportation ISNT bad from there at all no... it's either a dated, or unlucky experience, opinion.

Yep, boat to MK, yep monorail from there to epcot which is a nice way to do it or just the bus from outside the wilderness lodge to epcot which will be a much faster way.

You'll love the lodge :)

Actually the monorail doesn't go from MK to EPCOT. You have to change monorails at the TTC. However the boat from WL will indeed take you to either MK or the Contemporary Resort. I honestly don't remember taking the Bus from WL to any place as we had our own car with us.

very true... there'd be a change on the way but there's no boat to ttc so it's really the only viable way :/


You have to change monorails at the TTC. However the boat from WL will indeed take you to either MK or the Contemporary Resort. I honestly don't remember taking the Bus from WL to any place as we had our own car with us.

The bus is fine from WL to the parks/dtd BUT it does share its bus with the GF now :/ which adds some journey time

can you get from the contemporary straight to epcot?

our 5 y/o considers the monorail a ride :)

From the Contemp you can catch the monorail to the TTC and then take another monorail to Epcot.
The first monorail only goes in a loop around the lake and serves the Contemp, the GF, the Poly , the MK and the TTC.

...and it's a get off, walk down the slope, walk up another slope, kind of transfer from what I remember... but still it's not a bad deal and the monorail is always fun :)
