I read somewhere that you need to take photo id with you when you enter the parks now.
Do you need to take id everyday?
If it is only the first day can you just take one piece of photo id for all the family?
Lastly will a photo drivers licence do?

Do you know I get more excited with each visit  :D

Any valid form of government photo id will work. Yes each member should have their own, however, unless you are using APs you probably won't get asked for it. But Disney does reserve the right to ask for it. And if you are trying to purchase alcohol or cash a TC you may be asked for one. Additionally, if you don't sign the back of your credit card and try to use it they will also ask for one.

It's a wise idea to always carry your ID with you. It's the law here unless your a child.

A UK driving licence will be fine, and also safer than risk losing your passport!

Gosh Johnie did not know it was the law. I don't have a photo driving licence would an International Student Card do as I do not want to risk losing my passport :)

Get one of these Citizen Card (http://www.citizencard.net/) . I use it everwhere here and in Florida. Saves taking the passports anywhere.

I don't know if it's a law everywhere in the states but it is here in Virginia. I would think the student ID card would be fine though.

So do ya'll not normally carry an ID with you when at home?

I would have thought so. After all when you take a Disney cruise and you don`t have any photo ID, DCL take a photostat of your passport and you need to show this every time you leave and re-enter the ship.

As uscwest said, Disney do reserve the right to ask for a photo ID on park entry, but it`s extremely unlikely you will need it to enter the parks. I`ve never been asked for mine in all the times I`ve been there.

Both hubby and I have photo drivers licences but what about the kids? They are 9 and 13.......will I need to take photo id in for them too? Or do they need it for just us adults? Really not happy about walking around with the kids passports............

The only time we have been asked for photo ID was when we used our Universal tickets for the first day and when we had trouble with the fingerscans, they checked our photo ID against the name on the AP's. We use our photo licences. Our kids have never needed photo ID, so yours should be okay.

It`s probably best to take photostats of your childrens passports with you just in case.
As you and your DH have photo ID, any "jobs worth" will then be able to check that their names are the same as yours.

Everyone who has a drivers license has a photo id by default in this country. The DL is a credit card sized item. It has your date of birth on it. If you don't drive or are a minor (under 21) then you can get a state issued photo id, in most states, that looks very similar to a driver's license.

They won't ask for a kids ID. Most kids here don't have one. Alysia has had one since she was 9 but she's the exception it seems.
