I am trying to decide if I should leave my 10 pound (weight) dog with my mom or take him with us on vacation. Royal Pacific is pet friendly with sitting services and dog walkers. Anyone know around how much extra it will cost?

I don't know if I can be without my little buddy for a week, he's like my baby. But, I don't want him to be holed up in his kennel all day barking so he won't make a mess in the hotel room. But he will probaly have to stay in his kennel at moms house while she works too.

Also, I don't think I'll be able to walk him and walk the parks too. So I know I'll have to hire the help at the hotel.

Does anyone have any suggestion if it will be worth the extra money or if it will just be an extra bill.

Personally I think if I was you I would leave him with your Mum, at least then you know he's in good familiar hands and you won't spend time while you're in the parks wondering if he's ok or worrying about getting back to him.

I agree with Jenna, you can be sure that he is happy then and he is not in strange surroundings worrying where you have gone.

Are you only going to Royal Pacific? I know they have an extensive list of doggie services, including a room service menu :) I recall thinking it was expensive but I can't tell you how much.

I know you'll miss your dog but he'll probably be better off staying in somewhat familiar surroundings with your mom.

One other thing you might want to consider is whether having your dog with you will limit you on vacation. Will you feel guilty going out in the evening after he's been alone all day? Will he give you big puppy dog eyes when you leave? If you were going to the beach for a week, I'd say definately but as much as we love our dogs, I can't see enjoying a theme park vacation as much with a dog.One other option amy be to look into doggie day care for him at your mom's. Then he'll have friends to play with and not be in a crate all day and you may be able to do it for just a few days, to give him a treat too. Diane
