Hi Everyone,
We're off to the Caribbean Beach Resort in 2 weeks and 6 days :wiggle: - we've got 2 water view rooms booked, as they were the only ones available when we booked, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what are the chances of getting 2 connecting water view rooms in Martinique, Jamaica, Aruba or Trinidad North (as I've been told they're not too far from the food court etc. ) when we check in on 20th October? Is the hotel likely to be busy then, or would we have a good chance of getting rooms in those areas?
Thanks for any advice!

Hi Andrew!
I think that as a general rule, the CM's at each resort attempt to accomodate any request made by their guests...if you are flexible about which building you will be staying in, I would say that you will have a much better chance of having your request met...The end of October will most likely be "active" but I wouldn't think it would be too "busy".
One thing you might consider is faxing CBR a few days before your arrival. Some say CM's don't pay attention to them, however in my experience I have always had good luck with this...in either case, it won't hurt!

Hi Andrew, not too far away from me in Runcorn I see!
I hope you'll come back and tell us or even just me :D about CBR and if you liked it? I'm thinking of staying there in December!
PS. agree with what miraclemoments said! I've had good results from faxing a few days before

Thanks for the replies!
I'll certainly report back when we get home :)
As long as we're in one of those four areas we mentioned, we'll be happy, it's just that we don't want to be too far from the food court, shop etc!
The past few times when we've stayed at All Star Movies, we haven't had any problems getting connecting rooms etc - when we were there last year, we asked if we could be moved as we accidently asked for adjoining rooms, not connecting rooms - and that was no problem, and that was at the end of march, when the parks were really busy!
If we fax the resort just before we go, should we ask for a specific island, or just give a list of the four we'd be happy with and ask if we could be in anyone of those?
Thanks again!

I would fax them a list of the four you'd be happy with in ranking order (most desired-least desired) and explain to them you'd like connecting water-view rooms...when you get there, if they don't mention it, you might remind them at check-in...

A couple of years ago a friend was keen on staying in the Jamaica building. So I wrote her a little "jingle" (to the tune of "Under the Sea" from Little Mermaid). She faxed it several days before their arrival - and she got what she wanted!

Cool  - but I don't think I'm that creative :D . Hopefully a nice fax with suffice!
One last question - how many days before we travel do you think would be best to fax our request?

I reckon 4days before.... I used to fax from home 4 days before we went to the first resort and of course, 1 week and 4 days early for the second resort and they honoured both requests.

I would suggest no more than 3 days, no less than 48 hours...
And in case you need it:
Telephone: (407) 934-3400
Fax: (407) 934-3288

I think the room assigners got bored of coming in 3 days before and having a pile of guest faxes some demanding upgrades and blah blah... so I just do anything now to make it a bit different. Office clip art for a few disney characters and so on.

Well I've just composed my fax - do you think this would do the job?
Hello there!
I hope you are having a nice day!
I wonder if you could possibly help us? We’ve booked a holiday with Virgin Holidays to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort arriving from the UK on October 20th 2005, and leaving on November 2nd 2005 (Virgin Holidays booking number xxxxx/yyy)
We’ve booked two water view rooms, and we were hoping to be able to get two water view connecting rooms in one of the following villages:
Martinique
Jamaica
Aruba
Trinidad North
If you could possibly arrange this for us, it would give our holiday a little extra Disney magic!
Thank you for very much your help – and we’ll look forward to saying hello in person on October 20th!
Best wishes, and have a nice day!
And I've put pictures of mickey, donald, goofy and pluto in the corners - hopefully that should improve our chances! :D

Hi Andrew!,
You're even nearer to me - St Helens! I've done something very similar to you when we stayed at POR as we'd stayed the previous year and I wanted the same building. I faxed them about four days before we were due to arrive, and they were most helpful. I've always found that Disney resort staff will do their best if at all possible. We stayed at CBR this year - you'll love it!

Keith,
We stayed in Martinique - at the furthest end away from the food court which meant that it was about six/seven minutes walk to Old Port Royale for breakfast etc. The bus stop was about three minutes walk and our room was extremely quiet - building 24. I wouldn't stay in a room that is extremely close to the food court as you'll get people passing by constantly. If we returned to CBR, I'd stay in the same location again - it was excellent.

oooo ok thanks Tweenie! seven minutes kinda sounds like a fair walk to me  but yeah I understand what you mean about people passing by constantly.
What about the rest of the resort? did you like it?
