Virgin last check-in time @ Orlando Airport

Hi all,

We've just got our tickets, and Mums a bit concerned about something - which I think is OK, but she just wants to double check.

The return part of the tickets say the last check-in time is 3.30pm, but we're only getting picked up from our hotel @ 3.00pm, but - we will be using the Downtown Disney Check-in that morning.

So the last check-in time doesn't apply does it? We'll already have checked in, so it's just a matter of going through security when we get there, so 3.00pm will be plenty early won't it?

No probs if you have booked in at DTD, it is a breeze at the airport, first time we did it we couldnt believe we just walked through, thank heavens it has great shops there...

Andrew I presume you are flying to Man so your flight is 6ish? You've got plenty of time :).

i think we will use DTD checkin next trip,whereabouts is it, also i love MCO for the shops too :)

Trish - yes our flight is at 6 ish, but we like to get there in plenty of time, so we can spend any remaining coins we have!

ukwdwnut - The last time we were there, I think the check in was set up in the car park behind the cinema - or possibly behind cirque de soleil, I can't remember which!

Has anyone got anymore info on the DTD check-in service??

We didn't make use of this on our trip, and when we arrived at the airport we had to queue miles down the corridor (all the way around the corner and into a shopping area!!) - eventually people on our flight had to be picked out and taken to the front otherwise we would have missed the flight :rolleyes:

So, if you check-in at DTD, what is the process once you arrve at the airport??

If you use DTD check-in, you just go straight to departures at the airport, you are given your boarding cards etc at DTD. Security lines have been pretty long the last few trips for us, I would leave at least an hour to clear security and get to your gate. :thumbs:

So you actually drop your bags off at DTD and then pick them up again once you land back in the UK??

Yep! :thumbs: they are loaded into big trucks at DTD and you don't see them again until you land. :D

We were a bit sceptical on our first trip in May, and we ended up wasting the last day sat around the resort with our cases :whistle:

DTD is great, we really missed it when it closed after 9/11. it's sooooo much easier than queueing in the airport. You throw your hand luggage in the car or pack light and keep it with you and enjoy your last day! :thumbs:

DTD checkin is wonderful! I even think its good enough to pay for, which we'll be doing next year :D

Yep, it was great last year when we used - we got there at 8.30am when it opened, and we were the first ones there, so we were done by 8.45 or so, and we could relax until the time came to be picked up for the airport.
