So we're staying at ASMusic last week. We're in Jazz building 2 and we're walking out to the car and notice that one of the windows is weird. It's a pane glass window unlike all the others. The next day there are all these construction workers there and furniture up against the building. The next day, they have the door wide open and I see a king size bed in a separate bedroom, a living room and part of a kitchen with a microwave  I felt like I was someplace else. I had never heard of there being any kind of suites at the All Stars. I asked Mickeymac when I saw her later in the week and she says they are doing a test run on these types of rooms. Should be interesting. I bet they will be very popular.
Mickeymac did ask me if I snapped some pictures. :rotfl: the thought never even occurred to me. I can see me asking the construction workers to let me in for a moment because people on the net need to know! :D

How interesting. I wonder how much of a price difference there will be. It wouldn't make any sense to have to much of a higher price, especially since people could just move up into a mod or deluxe room, and get the benefits of those hotels. Of course, I'm thinking mostly of a hotel restaurant, which I wish that the values had. Still very interesting.

The word at this time is that these rooms will not be available to book but will be offered to families that will benefit from them that are looking for value resorts
Example if there is a family of 2 adults with 3 or 4 kids they will be offered this type of room
No information on prices yet

I wonder if this would put people off buying into DVC. They will be able to stay in villa/suite type accomodation for (probably) a fraction of the cost of DVC membership and upkeep :)

I heard they were doing this at Pop Century, as well...

Well, since I've never really considered buying into DVC, this is a great way for me and my entire family to visit WDW again. The last time we all went we had 4 rooms at the All Star Movies, and they weren't even adjoining rooms. I'd like the suite idea much better.

The rooms at the All Star resorts are a test and if it tends to be successful the second phase of Pop Century will be built entirely as family suites

Now that would be one of Disney's better ideas.

It is beginning to sound as if WDW is actually putting some thought into this.

It's something that has been need for some time. I hope they hold the cost to less than 2 connecting rooms. Larger families need accommodations at a reasonable rate.

My guess would be it probably wouldn't put people off much who would've otherwise bought into DVC. DVC is pretty much more appealing price wise I think to those who generally like to stay in the deluxe resorts when they visit and/or visit every year to every other year. Sometimes those who like to stay in the moderates and visit quite often...but for those who always prefer to stay at the values or moderates and just need the extra room because they're over the occupany limits it will really be great. As well as for those who just don't have the budget for DVC and need that extra space because they have a family of 5 or more. Only time will tell for sure though I suppose:shrug: I know it will be a hit one way or the other since people have been asking for options for 5 at a more affordable rate for quite some time now.
