Okay as you know if you've read my Pop century reviews please thread, I have been battling with myself over where we are going to stay next August. Well I'm off the idea of Pop now - I just think perhaps it too basic and I'll be disappointed when I'm there. Anyway we love POR so I thought a moderate would be a compromise. Affordable but with some luxuries. Like I said I love POR but I'd like to see something new. So guys help me out Coronado Springs Vs Caribbean Beach. We're hoping to spend some time enjoying the pool and visiting other resorts for dining. :)

My first on-site resort stay was in POR. It still holds a place in my heart.:) My second on-site stay was in CBR! Woah!!! Total contrast!!!!
I ended up liking CBR up to a point, but POR it isn't.
I'm very seriously looking at CS for a subsequent stay. I had breakfast there last year and I thought the resort was beautiful and I can just see me laxing in a hammock on the beach.:D

They seem to be very similar as far as amenities WQ don't they? So CS looked nicer then CBR did it? I wish I'd had a look at Easter now. really undecided, spent the last 2hours searching through the threads here:lol:

Yes, all the Mods have the same amenities. The problem I had with CBR was reception is in another building from the Food Court nowhere near each other.
Another black mark for CBR, and this won't affect you, was if you were in an ecv/wheelchair you can't get into the foodcourt from the pool area without waiting for someone to come along and open the door for you. No automatic doors.
I found CBR 'louder' than POR. CBR is a 'Party Resort', POR is a 'relaxing resort' if that makes sense.

I haven't stayed at CBR (only mod I haven't) but I hated CR. I had a horrible experience. Rude staff, a room as far away from everything as possible (dispite a request for something close due to mobility issues) 2 hour check in, no towels in the bathroom, 3 hours to get some (I'm strange, I like to shower after being in the car for 3 hours). I will never stay there again.

I actually really liked CS. We go over to the Pepper Market during each trip. We stayed there for a couple of nights last Nov. I know a lot of people don't like it b/c they have a convention center (so does the Contemporary and no one ever says anything about that!) but I didn't notice them. I like the look and feel of the resort.

I've not been to CBR but I don't like the look of it. Just a personal preference.

I liked CSR. It's gorgeous at night! I'm not fond of Pepper Market, but I'm a very finicky eater, so don't base your decisions on my fussiness! :)

I had a very un-accommodating CM at check-in who was determined to place me in Ranchos, which was the one section I faxed that I DID NOT WANT! I live in a real desert; I don't want to vacation in a faux desert--in Florida, no less! Another CM wasn't busy and rescued me. The second CM found an abosolutely perfect location for me! :)

The WDW bus stops are within easy walking distance of all of the rooms. There are 4 bus stops; you can use them to travel throughout the resort if you don't want to walk. I found the bus service to be excellent. I used the rental car only once on property--I was running late!

I don't use the pools or spa, but if I were a child, I would adore The Dig Site! :)

We have stayed at CSR twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bus service is indeed excellent. Although the resort is large the CMs will give you a lift anywhere in their buggies. The walk around the lake at night is very romantic! The food court does get very busy at times but we found it had quite a good selection.
On our second visit DH asked for exactly the same room that we had before and we got it with no problems. I think it may depend on how busy the resort is at the time.

What perfect location was it? :) We're spending 2 nights there in December between other bookings <G>

The mandatory service charge thing sounds a bit weird though ?

C.SPRINGS is a lovely resort and would choose it after P.Orleans as my choosen resort. the C.Springs main pool is by far the biggest and best pool out of any Disney Resort including the Deluxe. It is amazing...... We Visited C.Beach and thought it looked dirty, tiny pool area and very crowed in general with lots of kids running riot. Wouldn't choose C.B over any other mod and would prefer to stay at Pop century than C.B

It seems the resorts are very similar. So I suppose it comes down to themeing. A few other question though.

How do the rooms compare?
How do the pools compare?
How do the food courts compare?

Thanks in advance guys. Your all angels.

I think they are both very similar, I stayed at CB last year and enjoyed it. The swimming pools are probably the best part to CB, there is 1 main pool and 6 small village pools which are very quiet. We never used the main pool, cos we thought it looked very busy.

We've just got back from the CBR, and enjoyed it, as Eeyores Smile said above, it's nice that each village has their own pool, we went swimming in the one for the Martinique village, and we were they only ones in there.

One thing to bear in mind though, is that the resort is quite large, so if you're on one of the outlying villages, you could have quite a walk to Old Port Royale, where the shop and food court are. We stayed at Martinique, and it was only a couple of minutes walk away from the Old Port Royale, but we were a 10 minute walk away from the check-in desk.

Also, as each village has a bus stop, it can sometimes seem to take forever to get out of the resort and to the parks.
