Our Oct 2006 Trip, which hotel?!

Hi

We have narrowed it down now to four resorts, please help us decide!

We realise that the 1st three will be more expensive but would just like an opinion as we stayed at the AK lodge this year and next year are taking two first timers !:D

Either:
Contemporary Resort (depends what rate we can get our 1st choice)
AK Lodge
Wilderness Lodge
Port Orleans (both river or FQ

I voted for AKL. Why would you want to stay at Ft. Wilderness? Do you mean in a cabin or a tent? Or did you mean to say Wilderness Lodge?

I would love to stay at the Contemporary, because of the the monorail. :D

OK, I have altered the poll to read Wilderness Lodge for you. BTW, I chose AKL simply because I love the decor, the restaurants and the animals. Plus it was the first deluxe in which we stayed and everytime we walk into it, it feels like we are home.

I chose WL because we are staying there for one night next year......so I hope it's nice :)

Depends what's most important to you. For size, I'd vote for the CR. While it's not my favorite resort, I give it high marks for room size. The day bed is very comfortable and you have room to spread out a bit. Ive never stayed in a tower room, although I'd love to. Garden wings aren't the greatest other than the nice, big rooms.

I found the AKL and WL rooms very similar. I think AKL is overall nicer and Mara is great for counter service. The coffee there is very good much different than most of the resorts.

If you are booking standard view, then I vote for the WL. Our standard view room had the best view of the MK-we could watch Wishes, see the castle change colors all night and watch the monorail go through the CR.

I think you need to think about what you like and what's important to you. And while the monorail is nice at the CR, if you can only afford a garden wing room, it can be a long walk away.

I said Contemporary mainly because of the views you get and the monorail. However, I suppose they are all as good

This was a tough decision for me between AKL and WL, but I ended up picking WL. You have animals at AKL, but our last room at WL had a view of a pond that wildlife frequented. Both resorts have good restaurants, IMHO, so it came down to the pool :swim: , and we like the pool at WL over AKL.

Aside from Port Orleans I have never stayed at any of the other hotels,but I have eaten in all of the listed hotels.The one hotel that I want to stay at on our next vacation is Wilderness Lodge.I just love the decor and the restaurants are very good.:)

I voted AKL. I love the theming there though I love it at the Port Orleans resorts too.

I'll vote for AKL savannah view. It's a gorgeous hotel with awesome theming. Contemporary does nothing for me other than being close to MK.

I went with AKL also and if you can afford it, do it!! I'm hoping that my favorite TA can work some magic and get me an awesome rate for my May trip because I've always wanted to stay there instead of just popping in for a meal.
