Can anyone give me some tips on ironing on t-shirt transfers? :Please:
I had my first attempt the other day, and I think I did something wrong. The bit around the image is discoloured, as if I ironed too long and it burnt a bit
I figured the longer I kept the iron on it, the better, and it wouldn't really burn because it wasn't touching the fabric
Any advice on the best way to do these transfers, as I've loads to do for next year?
:thanks:

The tip I have is to cut the excess paper off (just cut the image out) and then iron that on. Make sure the iron is on the highest setting as well.

Thanks Johnie, that's one thing I messed up on, not cutting the excess off
Do you keep the iron going over and over it, or keep taking the iron off, as if you were ironing normal clothes?
I'm wondering what caused the discolouration, if it was burnt from keeping iron on too long.

What does the directions for your transfer paper say? The kind I used said to keep the iron firmly on the paper and use the highest setting. I wonder if it might be different with other types of paper?

I always do it as if I was doing normal ironing (yes, I vaguely remember that)by moving it over all the transfer and pressing hard at the same time.:)

Read the directions carefully. Some are light pressure for x amount of time and then full body weight pressure for x amount of time. Some just say to keep the iron moving (key to not burning) for x amount of time.

I recently did a few of these for dd's birthday...my first one came out a bit yellow around the image (I did trim most of the extra off, but there were some bits that couldn't be trimmed) I think the yellow was b/c I went a little too long with the iron... the others I timed exactly to what the directions said and were not yellow at all!
