We saw this last night and it was actually very cute and very funny! :) The animation was ok not as detailed as those that have been done with Pixar but ok. Anyone else been to see this? What did you think?

I haven't seen it, but it looks adorable. On the previews I love the part where the father says something like, "in a few seconds I'm going to scream like a girl." I think that is hilarious.
Side note: I'm personally waiting for Pride and Prejudice to come, which is only a couple more weeks. It looks so romantic. :D

I took the kids (5,9) to see it yesterday and they both loved it especially the 5 y.o. I thought it was cute but it wasn't great. :)

Ok, first my opinion on other CGI animated movies.
Movies like Shrek and others I don't really like, too many contemporary jokes, they lack the "classic" factor.
That's what is great about Pixar movies, they are story driven, the CGI enhances the story, they become "classics" almost instantly. Why does that happen to Pixar movies? Because they have all the storytellers and animators that Disney let go of when Roy was unseated from leading the Disney's Feature Animation.
Now Chicken Little, I liked it , he is cute, pretty good story, but you can tell it lacks the experience in storytelling that Pixar has.
Hopefully they'll get better with time and get back to creating "classic" movies to the level of Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Pinnochio, ...

Saw an interview with Adreas Deja the other day ( my top animator) and he is putting all his efforts into revitalising hand drawn animation - I hope he succeeds as I feel it still has a place

Ron Howard would agree with you  .
One of the previews before Chicken Little was "Curious George", done in traditional animation  . It's was done by Imagine Entertainment and produced and directed by Ron Howard. It looks extremely cute  , it's defenitely for little kids but Mrs. SM and I are defenitely going to go see it. We both love Curious George :wiggle: .

I'm glad Deja and Howard are pushing that! Deja's a great animator.
SM, tell more about the Curious George movie. That sounds fantastic!

Will Ferrell is the voice of The Man with the Yellow Hat and Dick Van Dyke and Drew Barrymore do other voices.
