I have had a pig of a day.:( Some things have gone terribly wrong, but were recovered at the 11th hour.:D
My ongoing stress feeder has been Air Canada!! Well, to be fair, Heathrow Airport rather than AC................but if they didn't fly out of there I wouldn't be stressed. So we'll blame them until someone better comes along.
They will only provide assistance for DH from the check-in desk to the plane. I can't find any information on Heathrow's site for getting assistance from anywhere else to get him from the door to the check-in desk and I don't have a Magic Carpet (back to Aladdin again.:D )
Good grief..........I miss Virgin.:(
Sorry..............I had a small rant minute there.

I found this info on Heathrow if it's any use hun.
SPECIAL ASSISTANCE
Help Points
You can call assistance from any of the HelpPoints, which are situated in several locations in and around the airport. If you require help, lift the green phone and when answered, explain your requirements. If you require wheelchair assistance in order to check in, someone will be sent to help you free of charge.

We looked at Heathrow Airport information last night as we are flying from there. We couldn't find anything from Manchester at a reasonable time or price for our dates.
We couldn't find very much information either, unlike Manchester which has a good section for advice on any special requirements.
DH spoke to BAA Advance and has booked a Valet parking arrangement which he hasn't told me how much it costs yet:(
Funny how you start off with a must watch the costs approach and then the extras start creeping in:eek:
The information on the green phone lines will be very useful for us too.
Hope you are feeling less stressed now:)

Apparently, the slave..............that'd be me................has to walk all the way to Air Canada check-in, draging 3 kids and the 'not so generous' luggage allowance to tell them to send a wheelchair back to where I just came in to pick him up.
I can feel the stress levels rising..............

Slap for Air Canada I think. The Heathrow terminals are quite large places. That's a lot of dragging around. :slap:

I'll get the nice check-in person to explain why the grumpy, just been woken up 4 yr old can't go to Disney World for Christmas.:) That should be entertaining.

November 28th, 2005, 17:15
I couldn't get a direct flight at the time of booking for a reasonable price, Johnie. Have to go through Toronto on the way out and Montreal on the way back. I just like to make more work for myself.
