I bought this nifty little cork board at Hobby Lobby the other day...Baleigh wanted a "girly" way to display her pins, and apparently a "regular, brown, boy board" wouldn't do

It's very nice, the frame is a painted white wood (not plastic), and there are two hooks at the bottom that would be a *perfect* place to hang your lanyards. They also had a larger one (four hooks across), but we opted for the smaller one for her room...

The best part? A price tag of only $5.55!!

She likes it :D

On another "creative note"...notice the heart shapes on the wall behind the board? I stamped those all over the upper half of her room...the base coat is a flat paint, the stamp coat is a "satin" version of the same shade, so it's a very "subtle" decoration (in fact, it shows up much more noticeable in the picture than it does in "real-time.") However, just to add a little "kick" to it, I mixed the satin paint with "glow-in-the-dark" paint (white as well, it absorbs the light during the day and then glows at night). Now, at night when she goes to bed...all the hearts glow in the dark for about two hours!! I even painted a hidden mickey in one corner :D

Now that is just too cool. Tell Baleigh I may have to come and spend the night

Great cork board & lovely display!
I have a plain one but at least it looks slightly better with the border painted.

I had planned a trip to Hobby Lobby yesterday any way in search of stuff for Jordan's bday party, so I looked to see if ours had this. They had 1 just like yours...I had hoped to find the larger one (I have lots of pins) but they had none. Very cute...and I was impressed with it's sturdiness...well worth the $5.85 price tag. Didn't buy it though...hope to try the other HL near us to find the larger one.

 Excellent, Anne!

Love the glow-in-the-dark paint mixed with the satin paint idea! A bit more subtle than the glow only stuff!

Figment...I found it very sturdy as well, in fact it was one of the things that impressed me most, especially for the price. Best of luck finding the bigger one...have you tried their website? I'm not sure if they e-sell or not, but it might be worth a try?

Thanks for the compliments guys...her room has been so much fun :D

I wish we had Hobby Lobby stores here in our area. I love visiting the one near my daughter's house.

I love our Hobby Lobby, I swear I could get lost in there :D

And as luck (well not for my credit card) would have it, our Hobby Lobby and Michaels are within walking distance of one another!!! As well as the Barnes & Noble

I also wish we had an AC Moore closer to the house. That would be nice!

I've not heard of AC Moore Donna? Is it a craft store?

Yep, it's similar to Michaels. THey have one in Fredericksburg, I stopped up there a couple of weeks ago and bought some Old Virginia Candle wax melts $1 for a package of 2 and they certainly rival Yankee Candle.

Yeah, AC Moore is similar to Michael's but carries some different brands of stuff. We have one not too far from work, but it's too far to walk to.
