Rumour has it on a few sites that DVC members will be able to add the dining plan on to their ressies without it being tied into a ticket from next year. Hope this is true, we'll cane it!

I heard a similar rumor for Florida Residents. I really hope it's true too!

I think I need to take some of the credit for this  I've been emailing them regularly asking if we can add dining to our stay at BCV...I keep getting polite responses that it's not available, but one CM who email did say it was something they were considering...Too bad it's not happening until April!

Wow!! Does anyone have any details on this. Do you think if I call member services they would be able to tell me about it. I'm going in August with my family of 4, my Mom and 2 teenage nieces. The girls eat more then we do!! Do you know if it's just open to members or for their guests as well? Great news. Thanks Paula for passing it on!

Have heard from another forum that it is :-
*$37.99/Adult & $10.99/Child (ages 3-9)
**Dining must be purchased for: Length of Stay & All Persons Registered in room
***NOT tied into ANY ticket (i.e. you can use MYW tix, AP/PAP's whatever to utilize the parks - but, don't have to purchase ANY ADDITIONAL PARK TICKETS in order to purchase the plan).
****You can book beginning in January for April, 2006, usage.

I heard exactly what Susie has posted above. How exciting for us!! There have been some great enhancements for DVC members that past couple of years, I'm so pleased :D

That's really good!
Looks a bit pricey though
Probably not worth it for us though next year. We only just bought DDE cards, plus some of our meals are already paid for (SoA dinner show, Cindy's).

Oh, is it only for DVC members? I thought from Susie's post it would be for everyone

Any word on residents? I was hearing rumors for the same thing?

The rumor is that it would be for all room-only and DVC bookings. It would be nice, but then it would take away Disney's incentive to book packages, so I don't know how true the room-only portion of the rumor is...
The pricing is the current pricing of the dining plan.
Joanne, you can also use your DDE card for the incidentals that your dining plan does not cover. It's tricky in some restaurants, but covers the wine tab rather nicely. :D

Here is more information on it for DVC members
*Members can start booking the meal plan starting 01/03/06 through Member Services.
*The plan can be booked for reservations starting April 1st 2006.
*The plan must be booked for the entire length of your stay at the resort
*There is no minumum night stay. If you are staying 1 night at a DVC resort, you can get the meal plan for that 1 day.
*If you are doing split stays, you can get the plan for the entire trip, provided you are doing DVC resorts for the entire trip. You would just book the plan for each reservation
*Payment is not made until you check into the resort. Your credit card will be charged for the entire plan at check in. For split stays, you pay for the 1st part of the plan at check-in at the first resort, the 2nd part of the plan at check-in at the 2nd resort
*You must book the plan through Member Services, and it can be booked anytime up until check-in. In my case, I am checking in on Sunday April 2nd, so the latest I could call and book would be that Friday, March 31st, since Member Services is not open on Sat and Sun. If I was checking in on Monday, I could call Monday morning before I check in and add the plan.
*You cannot add the plan once you check in.
*You can cancel the plan anytime before check-in with no penalty, but cannot cancel once you check in.
For some the DDE will be better if that is what you have. You will have to do the math on what you normally would spend at the restaurants you would like to go to. Remember that the Dining plan has a 15% gratuity included for the table service place in the price you pay for it. Tax is also included in the price
