Does anyone know where we might be able to get some essentials on Christmas eve night. bread, milk etc.

Depending upon the hour, Publix will still be open. If they are not (and you are onsite) there are a couple of DVC connected food shops. One is on the Boardwalk, one is at OKW, and one is at BC. The other DVCs have little shops but those three are the best.

If you are offsite and Publix is closed, then you can go to a Seven Eleven. They have basics and should see you through until the 26th when the shops open on their regular schedules again.

Thanks for the info. We're hoping to be arriving in our villa around 9pm - Im guessing that publix will be closed by then. So 7-11 it is. any ideas of the nearest to Highlands Reserve?

Yes, there will be one on 27 on the left (at the new stoplight) before you get to Highland's Reserve. It has a pretty good collection of things.

It's not a formal Seven Eleven though. It's a Citgo. Same difference.

I'm pretty sure (although not certain) that most proper grocery shops will be closed by then, given that it is Christmas Eve.

Walgreens should also be open and they carry some food stuff.

The Walgreen's on the way to Highland Reserve are the smaller one's Johnie. They don't carry as good a selection as the Convenience Stores do.

Also, not positive but I thought our Walgreen's was going to be closed by six pm? I could be really wrong about that (probably confusing it with Publix) but I thought I saw a sign to that effect on one of the stores. (Maybe just some are going to be closed)?

really? that's interesting. The ones here are open 24 hrs a day/365 days a year. I truly wouldn't be suprised if Wal-Mart opened for a bit on Christmas day.

Have you looked at any of the net grocers? I wonder if they are delivering Christmas Eve or Day??
