Man Hurt While Boarding Peter Pan Ride

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A man was hurt Tuesday evening at Walt Disney World while trying to board a ride.
It happened on the Peter Pan ride at the Magic Kingdom, WESH 2 News reported.
The guest's injuries are not life-threatening. Officials with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said the 71-year-old man is in good shape, but there were some tense moments when the accident happened.
Fire and rescue crews pulled the man to safety after he slipped and fell into the path of the cars while trying to board the ride.

"He tripped between two of the ride cars. It's a slow-moving attraction. A cast member saw what happened and immediately hit the emergency stop and activated the emergency system to have someone come help them," Reedy Creek Fire Department representative Bo Jones said.
Disney immediately shut down the ride and cleared the rest of the area for the evening. Officials expect the ride to reopen Wednesday.
