A few years ago John's sister used to be the director of the Agriculture Museum in Dover, Delaware. Behind the museum was a late 1800's recreated village and farm. Several times a year the museum would hold events in the museum and village - things like cider pressing, yarn spinning, beading, iron working in the blacksmith's shop, etc. One year I was even a suffragist and had to stand on a stage and debate some fellow who thought women should not have the right to vote! Several of us ladies wore period costumes and carried signs and chanted slogans as we marched around the village!

One of my favorite artisans was a lady who painted on plates and bowls, etc. One Christmas she demonstrated her painting techniques (she was quite good) on china (?) butterflies. I bought one and received one as a gift. I hung them on the wall in our bedroom.

Well, one of them fell and broke apart into two pieces. I've held on to the pieces intending to glue them together. But I have no idea what type of glue to use. Does anyone have an idea of the best sort of glue to use on porcelain (china, whatever????)? Thanks!

We've got Gorilla Glue but it says that it has to be held pressed together and I'm not sure Donna could do that with the butterfly.

I know it sounds odd, Donna, but I use my nail glue on figurines, etc. (finger nails that is :D) Works a treat.

Yeah, Gorilla Glue was a "no go". You have to clamp the pieces together... It would take an odd clamp to hold it - and I wasn't going to stand there holding it for hours! LOL
