We have booked this to do during our honeymoon week. Now I know everyone says the food is not that great and that is fine we are going more for the expierence. But when I was reading the menu it had the regular stuff at the top and then below that it had a section that said especially for children. Does anyone know if adults can grab some of the kids food selections because I am just a plain jane and macaroni and cheese and popcorn chicken would be just great to me. Or do the people there frown upon that? If anyone that has been there could please let me know that would be great.

Thanks

As WQ says, you can eat whatever you like. I must say I mainly ate from the childrens buffett, much nicer than the adults :D

The only thing I will say is that if you are going purely for the experience you may be a little disappointed. We found this in January when we booked it, thought it would be really godo fun, but we left completely disappointed and wished we had saved our money.

Yes you get some enteraction with the whales but they were only out for a about 5 - 10 minutes and also if you were down the wrong end of the seating circle then we found that the whales only stayed up one end in particular and never came to where we were sat.

Personally I would save your pennies for a different excursion.

I have to agree with all of Lisa's comments. Done it twice and been disappointed twice. Won't be doing it again.

hmmm something to think about, thanks everyone for your comments. Do you think that doing the luau they have there would be better?

I was deciding between dine with Shamu and the Makahiki Luau.....have gone with the latter. :)

We enjoyed it
I didn't care for most of the food on the adult buffet, and I filled up on the chicken strips from the kids buffet :)

We will probably end up dining with Shamu the trip after next.....just for something different to do and in the hope of getting close to the big guy :)

We thought it was really good to be able to get so close, especially when he comes right up and poses in front of you. He did that at 3 places around the pool, so everyone should have gotten to see him that day. Maybe it's like the show, and he doesn't perform as well some days

We also really enjoyed this too. On our day also Shamu did his up close and personal touch at three sides of the pool, everyone on our day got a great view. Like Jo says maybe it depends on what kind of a mood he's in. He may have been having a bad day:thunder: :hmph:

Thanks everyone! I think we are just gonna go ahead and keep the reservation. Hopefully Shamu will be having a good day!

Check out some of the other behind the scenes tours or trainer for the day, I am sure one of them gets you pretty close to the whales and dolphins.
Also make time for the under water viewing, we end up just watching for at least half an hour, which is huge amount of time for three under 8's to stay in one place.
