My 17 year old DD recently tore her MCL skiing...(she is a dancer that is going to college in the fall for a BFA in dance..she should have went to Disney instead of skiing! haha!) How complicated is it to rent a wheelchair at Disney?? She is currently using crutches to get around and I think that it would be a nightmare during Easter week!! Any suggestions anyone??

You can rent a wheelchair at the gate to any of the WDW parks (including the International Gateway of the World Showcase). Of course, I can't remember how much they cost. There are ECV for rent too. Those cost about $35 or so per day through WDW.

If you are staying at a WDW resort they may loan you a WC for the duration of your stay.

You can also arrange to rent an ECV from a local company (for much less than you would pay for a daily rental through WDW) that will deliver it to you.

Hope that helps some. Whitequeen is very familiar with renting ECVs through local companies, so you may want to send her a PM if she doesn't see this.

There are companies here (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/disababout.html) that you can rent a wheelchair from for the length of your stay and take with you everywhere.

I feel for her! I've torn my ACL and had it reconstructed. Some notes for her, if she doesn't have the range of motion so rides are very hard to get in and out of - Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Pirates... basically anything you have to step down to. It's not the getting in that is as hard as the getting out...

Thankyou thankyou whitequeen. I have always tried without luck to hire a bath chair whilst in Orlando. This has always been a real struggle. Your link above put me in the right direction.:)
And i got to speak to a Floridian which always makes me feel closer to the magic.:D
