Hi, I will be phoning MS in a few hours to book our 1br for 7 months time (familiar feeling I'm sure)
But the first time for me at OKW.
Can you help us find the ideal room location, Just the 2 of us, no kids, no smoking and no car. I would like a quiet 1BR for 7 nights 24th Oct to 31st Oct, so we need a room.....

away from the road
away from family pools
closish to bus transport
closish to boat transport
closish to Olivias and the grocers
with a view of lakes/wildlife

Boy I am demanding aren't I ?He! He!

I've only got until 3pm UK time.
Ian ..nervous 7 month sensation sufferer

I've stayed in 3 different rooms at OKW on two trips there. My favorite spot by far was the section of rooms directly across from the main lobby. But the reason I liked it will probably be the reason you do not. It was close to main pool, restaurants, bus stop, etc. It can be a little noisy & hectic with the buses coming & going there. But of course that could be said about most of the spots at OKW as there is always buses coming & going. The last time we went we moved to a 1BR half way thru & this room was further out in building #44. This was out on Old Turtle Pond Road. It was very quiet, there was a quiet pool (that wasn't really quiet) but it was across the street & down from us so we heard no noise from it. We did hear the bus as we were close to the busstop but that didn't bother me. Good luck.

Here (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/okwmap.html) is a map of the resort.
Whenever we`ve stayed there, we have had our accommodation in buildings 11 through 14.
It`s very convenient as it is near to the store, hospitality house, bus stop etc. etc.
The views from the rear are quite good also as these buildings back onto the golf course.

I think you can request but they are not guaranteed . I have heard people say that you are better with a car at OKW, but again not sure as I've not stayed there yet .

We always have a car but I don't feel like you need it anymore at OKW than anywhere else I've stayed. The bus makes loops as far as I remember. So ifyou are further out & need to go to the main area for pool, gift shop, etc. you can hop on your bus & it will always stop at the main busstop so you can get off there. If I am wrong I'm sure someone will point you right.

Well you've already stayed there BT so you have that advantage over me :).

Having a car at OKW really isn't necessary. When I go there, I park my car and never touch it until I leave. :D

OKW is sprawling, but well suited for walking. Since I really enjoy walking it's no problem for me. However, you can hop any bus in the resort and it will take you to Hospitality house, so there really isn't a problem if you don't like to walk!

I prefer the buildings further back in the resort. Those in the 50s put you near to the walkway to DTD. The quiet pool is nearly like your own private pool!

BWV is a bigger problem. You end up having to haul out your hiking shoes there. I was once in room 5011 (I think). It's the LAST room on the top floor, way over by Jelly Rolls. I didn't think I'd ever get to my room at night. It was a serious hike indoors. For some reason, it seems much further to me to have to walk for "miles" indoors than it does to take a stroll outdoors. I don't like the main pool at BWV, but their quiet pools are nice.

I like BWV, but I love OKW. :D

It is lovely. It's a very diffent WDW experience from the other resorts. I like OKW but it's not my favorite. I do prefer the indoor rooms like at BCV over outdoor rooms at OKW (if that makes any sense) but I really can't knock OKW on anything.

Thanks for the replies. I feel pretty confident that whichever room we get will be perfect, I booked today for all but my last day requesting as you have all suggested quiet, high floor away from the family pool- the kids don't need me moaning about the noise do they!! :D
