I've been going over this stuff for a week now. What exactly are you paying dues for? What are some extra perks besides free valet??

The annual dues cover the cost of maintaining the DVC properties....decorating, refurbishment, maintanance and general upkeep.
Apart from the free valet, you also get 10% discount at many restaurants and the Disney Store, a healthy discount on AP`s and the tours around WDW etc. etc.

Thanks so much. I'm trying to convince DH that this is a good thing for us to look into. I want to be prepaired with all my answers when he starts asking questions!

It's hard sometimes for me to grasp the dues thing too when it's coming out of the checking acct. every month but I try to think of the money I'm saving on lodging now. We still pay $$ for our summer lodging at WDW & it has really skyrocketed over the past few years. DVC is a good deal even with the stinkin' dues!
