I tried calling member services this morning at 9:00 am and it was busy, busy, busy and I didn't get through until around 10:30...I was at work, so it wasn't constant dialing, but is it always that busy in the morning?

I have been phoning each day at 09.00 ET and have only waited a couple of minutes to book our next days stay.

I don't call member services often but have never had to wait for more than a few minutes.

I was just going to say that, DVC members calling to book the Med Cruise. We called DCL directly and waited for :51min.

She said at one point there were 400 calls on the queue from Europe! Has the first sailing sold out?

I would have thought that they would have had a dedicated reservation line rather than just the usual number.

I don't think they expected that volume...but how could they not?

I just got papers in the mail the other day for the cruise. It's nowhere in our plans but I didn't think it seemed like a smokin' deal or anything. Is it? Or is it just that it's the first time Disney's done a Med. cruise?

I think it's because it's the first time they've done it...

I don't think too many Brits will be doing the Med Cruise as we can fly around Europe on low cost carriers for as low as $30.

You are right up to a point Ollie, however we`ve booked this cruise because of the experience of doing another DCL cruise on the Magic, which is a great experience in itself.

We priced it up and it was £10k in a deluxe family cabin without any excursions or airfare to Barcelona  I thought that was a bit extortionate for the length of cruise if you compare it to other cruise lines. I can't believe what they are charging for kids. No way could our 5 year old eat over $2k worth of food to justify the price for her! :nono: Had it gone to ports like Monaco & Cannes rather than Villefranche and Marseille, we may have done it and paid the price, but I doubt it. We're flying upper class to LA and doing Disneyland instead! :D

I can't argue with that Paula, Wow £10k.
Slowhand, We haven't done a DCL cruise yet, That was part of the reason for buying our second contract actually. Our friends/neighbours have been on three E,W and 7day and rave about the quality and service of Magic and Wonder. We are off too Skiathos again for our week in the sun in July but its not gonna cost me £10k :D Ian

You`ve got to try one of the DCL cruises Ollie. I can guarantee that it wouldn`t be your last!!
Fortunately [or unfortunately...whichever way you look at it!] , we don`t have any kids, so the Med Cruise for us, although it`s not cheap will not cost anywhere near £10K:eek:

Slowhand, fortunately we have been blessed with hobbies not kids. My kids are radio controlled cars (probably just as expensive) :D
Not sure about DW hobbies, probably her iron or the washing machine or the Dyson:wink:
I did price the Caribbean cruise up, points wise and its a definite, but I would like to follow it up with a weeks stay in the Caribbean somewhere.
